Ron Paul doesn't see race but individual liberty all! Just listen to what he's said and done over the past 40+ years. He is incapable of being a racist.

About that video: He responded to a person in need, partly because he's a doctor and partly because of his humanity, I guess.

Sure, he likes blacks and others well enough as individuals when he meets them. But I suspect he does not think highly of them as a group.

I've looked at some of the infamous newsletters.

Although I support him, that's in spite of the fact that I think he was (and probably still is) a racist.

The writers of those controversial pieces in the newsletters would not dare to submit them, unless they knew the editor and publisher would be OK with the racist content.

Also, it is too difficult to believe that Paul would never have noticed (or heard about) the bad writings eventually. He should have placed a retraction and explanation in a later newsletter.

If he was not racist, then he was opportunistic enough to pander to racists in order to sell newsletters.

I get that he was doctor and did not have time to write but it was under his name so he is morally responsible for it. My sister is a doctor so busying is understandable however when something like those newsletter come up during the time you are running for president you will make the time to hire lawyer and track down the person who wrote but he did not do that. Now when his pressed about this in 1996 he say that he did not see them but later in the interview he states that he read them. He flip flop on that and video might have been a ployed for people to forget his newsletter put it is out there for the world to see

I addressed you and all the others, who answered MY question on this matter.......and mostly what I got was alot of denial of the facts, and fact twisting.

The newsletters are real. They exist and went out under his name. He has changed his story several times, regarding them over the years.......(remember, he's run before, and this was an issue before......and his answers NOW do NOT jive with what his answers were then . He's had plenty of time and advisors to get his story straight and polish it up for the press. )

He's settled on he was unaware these went out, and he's "apologized" for them.........but the fact remains, the comments DO back his own views, whether he wrote the articles or not.

(and that , in itself, is still greatly debated. ) There HAVE been interviews, now famous on You Tube, where he's said such politically incorrect things. As one poster on MY question said.........he feigned surprise that Ron Paul DENIES his racism. In fact, that's a good slice of his base. ......the same sort of bozo's who think Obama is some sort of communist .

It's like Romney saying *HE's* not putting out all the attack ads against Newt..........his supporters are.

well, you dan sure know what you're supporters are doing, and what goes out under your name.

and if you dont........then you're either a dunce, or totally incompetent. These newsletters went out for YEARS. To feign ignorance of the racist content.......when he can quote all the OTHER content like the bible......is disingenious, at best.

He certainly was aware of what was being written in his own damn newsletter. Pretending otherwise is just lame.

Too bad you people don't know him personally.

He backed the Alabama Governor Candidate in the Libertarian Party. That candidate is sponsored by the League of the South.

Racist? Yes, very much. Look it up. Not on Ron Paul's site, but for real.

no he is a civil libertarian that believes everyone has equal rights that cannot be imposed by government. on the newsletters he wrote them and sent them in but the last person that saw them supposedly was the editor and thats where the 8 sentences i believe came from. but ya while these were being written he was also giving free healthcare to anyone that was poor and this included blacks and minorities

No he is not, honestly, I lean more to the left and even I am getting tired of people throwing that word at him and well pretty much everything today.

  • NO!! he did not write those letters.

by the way, he is the only repulican iin the race who opposes Obama's newly signed NDAA bill.

    Martial law is next

No he is not, and it is stupid that he has to come out with an ad to defend himself now.
