Why are there so many British People all over American television. Aren't Americans talented enough?

It's almost impossible now to watch something on TV and not hear a British accent. I'd rather hear American accents. I don't buy products that feature British accents in the commercials because I think Americans should have those jobs first. British actors aren't better, they're just foreign, right?

There are many talented Americans in the news and entertainment media. The world also has many who are talented and the United States enjoys putting this diversity forward in its media system. I do like the "Dr. Who" series on the BBC and find the character's multiple incarnations very entertaining. I believe it has been on across the world since 1963. It's not boring and is not a remake. This is a definite plus for the show. I enjoy watching any program that has depth to it. This one is a plus.

Are there really that many? In the case of Christopher Hitchins he was a real 'Catch' for the Americans. Love or hate his views on Religion or Politics there was no disputing that he was intelligent and entertaining. And some of the debates he engaged in with people like Amy Goodman etc made America a rival to any European cultural centre. Also British Media people love the American T.V. and Radio scene which they see as exciting, and love engaging Americans in debate. You Guys seem to attract people who like being around you.
