Have a gents shirt which has a few small blood spots from a nose bleed that we just cannot wash out. Any ideas?

We have used cold salt water, hot biological washing powder and the commercial product named "Vanish". All with no effect. Anny suggestions would be appreciated .

Racey-pa is correct. You should have immersed the shirt in a strong solution of salt and cold water immediately. This will work for most stains including red wine. I usually leave in this solution for 24 hours and then put the item through a normal wash cycle in the machine. All items successfully cleaned with no staining.

Hot salt water. Causes the water in the blood which keeps it bonded to the fabric to come out.

This shirt should have been soaked on cold - very strong salty water as soon as the blood was noticed. . By washing it, you have cooked the enzymes into the material. Sometimes "proper" milk will remove blood stains but I think you will have to discard this shirt and buy a new one. OR dye it.

As Chris said. Cold water clots blood, hot make it "runny"
