How can I lure my cat out of hiding?

We live in a small house and recently brought the cat to my grandmothers 2 story house. Well, the cat was sitting on the bed when I walked away. I came back and she was gone. We literally checked everywhere. She's missing... any technices or something to lure her towards me? I've tried shaking the food, a bell, and calling her name. I even tried meowing to get a response. Help?

Thanks in advance.

The best way to lure a cat out of it's hiding space is time. He'll come out when he's ready and feels comfortable! However, a good way to make him more comfortable is with a cat's favorite thing: FOOD. when my cats get out, the surest way to get them back in the house is by shaking their food container. As soon as you rattle their food, (I use a big plastic tupperware container, it makes a lot of sound!) they'll hear something that is familiar to them and it will make the area seem more inviting. Remember that cats are very careful creatures. I hope you get your little guy adjusted soon!

Use little noises with your mouth maybe throw out some food that smells really good:) The cat also might just be sleeping somewhere under something that happens to me alot... Hope this helps!

get a cat toy with a bell, cats love to play with things that jingle, or get some cat treats and shake the bag. cats also love treats! i hope i helped and good luck getting your cat out of hiding:) my cat was the same way!
