Do you have to read the bible to believe in GOD?

That has always been a confusing question for me.

I know the Bible quite well and do not believe in it or any God.

In general, if someone refers to God, they are speaking of the Christian God. All the other Gods have names or at least titles. Just plain God generally is understood to be the Christian Deity.

Since He only exists in the Bible, logic, (a dangerous assumption when dealing with this subject) would expect someone to follow the Bible in order to follow God but I actually know quite a few people who believe in either a Divine Spirit or Deity or even in God Himself while they reject the Bible which created Him.

Not exactly sure how that works but I guess for some people, yes, you can believe in this God dude without the Bible.

There are four proofs for existence of God:

1. The Intellect –Just as planes, vehicles, skyscrapers, iphone and other things didn’t exist by chance but man-made, similarly planets, moon, birds, red-sea, man and all creatures are neither created from nothing nor are they themselves the creators. A design must have a designer.

2. The senses (i.e. tangible/observable proof) – some people have sincerely prayed to God for something, such us pray for rain, to get a baby, to be rescued from a disaster, to pass exams e.t.c. and they saw the positive results. So who answered the prayers? God.

3. Natural/Innate Disposition – You can install a car-tracking device to your car and always know of its location. It seems like God implanted a “God-Acknowledgment Device” in all human beings so that when we die and get resurrected to face God’s Judgment, we don’t come up with the “we-have-been-unaware-of-the-existence-of-One-God” excuse. And there is the contemporary study where researchers and scientist claim to have discovered Brain’s “God Spot”.

4. Scripture – Firstly, the existence of God’s scripture is an indication that there is not only a God but this God whose “. . . mercy endures forever.” [Psalm 136:1] is so helpful to provide mankind with a manual (guidebook/scripture) on how to better live on planet earth. Secondly, man is to error thus any writing that is contradiction-free and error-free is definitely from the All-knowing God because we “Ascribe greatness to our God. Both the Qur’an and Bible can’t be the 100% true Scripture. Either Bible or the Qur’an or other scriptures other than them. If you read the Bible, but you don't understand it, then it sounds like you are working from a number of false premises and assumptions. Without understanding Scripture, how can you hope to avoid being deceived, and led astray to follow a "false" god?

Current Suggestion; 1st discern between scripture and Bible especially at present in USA. They are not the same.

2. god or God? Man is a god.(Presently in USA about 300+ million living.

The bible(s) are a product of an organisation that makes money from selling them.

Buying a bible just adds money to a pot somewhere.

You dont have to enter a building or read a book to have faith.

Faith comes by the word of God. how are going know what to believe if you have never heard or read the word of God?

Bible could not help even Jesus. He cried in pain at the time of Crucifixion. He was not in a position to understand whether God has accepted him or not. Think and decide.
