Are the "anonymous publishers" of the Divine Name King James Bible Jehovah's Witnesses with a hidden agenda?

I found so much evidence at the Divine Name King James Bible website (dnkjb.net) that deserves some scrutiny because of the following words...

"We will soon include throughout the NT in our online version of the DNKJB the supporting documentation to show the authority for claiming the NT should read with the Divine Name in the text."

"In the context of these statements we answer the question "Who are the Divine Name Publishers" by saying simply that we are a group of avid truth seekers who have determined for themselves that it is an undeniable truth that the Divine Name has been purposely withheld from those to whom it is owed. Equal to lying about the Creator and His Will is the hiding or obscuring of His Divine Name. And it is a great shame for Bible translators to conspire with ignorance and evil to accomplish such a heinous thing."

So these statements show the anonymous publishers of the DNKJB say "the NT should read with the Divine Name", and they are accusing the Christian Bibles INCLUDING the Authorized King James Version of "lying about the Creator and His Will", "hiding or obscuring of His Divine Name", and the translators "conspire with ignorance and evil to accomplish such a heinous thing".

Okay now, I thought these were exactly the same accusations that the Watchtower and the Jehovah's Witnesses were making against the Christian Bibles all along for many, many decades. Do the "anonymous publishers" of the DNKJB really sound like non-Jehovah's Witnesses, or are they really Jehovah's Witnesses with a hidden agenda? What do you all think about the "Divine Name Publishers"?

Update:

Rick G...Really? What about their plans for the NT? Can you find one Greek New Testament Interlinear with the Divine Name findings?

Update 2:

danman...I agree. I checked the source of this domain and it is from godaddy.com, a secure site for shielding a private domain user. Other KJV sites are not like this one.

Update 3:

Andrew said..."I have no idea who these people are, but if it was Jehovah's Witnesses you would have known it was as they are so proud of Gods name, they would not hide themselves from being in agreement with it."

Righto....so who are the NWT translators?

Update 4:

Andrew...why can't you say they are anonymous on this thread...

Watchtower 1974 12/15

On September 3, 1949, the New World Bible Translation Committee presented us with a completed translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures. This manuscript, along with their work on the Hebrew Scriptures that followed, became our legal property. In regard to this, page 258 of the book Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Divine Purpose notes: “The one request of the translation committee was that its members remain anonymous even after their death.” We have kept our agreement and respected their wishes.

Update 5:

Andrew...everybody knows the NWT translation commitee who inserted "Jehovah" into the OT & NT was made up of "anonymous brothers", and look up the JW-Archive link provided by WoB and GT, your brothers have already admitted this DNKJB site is... "The web site is a 4 year labor of one of the Brothers...". How much more evidence do you need from your own brothers?

Update 6:

William...look up Peacelily's edit to your requested information. All the translators in both of those Bibles are not as anonymous as you might think.

Update 7:

Al, who told you we are the KJV only crowd? There is already the NWT translation, so why is there a need for another Bible rewritten from the copyright expired Authorized King James Version? We would like to know what credentials these DNKJB translators have, whoever they are, and why are there always so much secrecy if they are so proud of using the Jehovah name? Did this occur before with the NWT translators who also were very proud of using the Jehovah name in the Bible? Is it common practice in this Organization and their translators to have pride in this Jehovah name and hide away their names and credentials in secrecy?

More than likely. Emails have been circulating warning people not to take this "Divine Name King James Version" seriously. It is available in electronic format only and has not been printed.

What this is is the Authorized Version of 1611 (which is now in the public domain due to copyright expiration, at least outside of the UK) with "LORD" replaced with "Jehovah." This website is not the first to do this: http://www.sacrednamebible.com/B01C002.htm

Interestingly, they claim in their FAQs:

"The DNKJB is not yet in print as we are proofreading it thoroughly. We have invested about $25,000 to produce the online version and are still in production of the other formats, ereader and print. It is a very expensive proposition to print a book and as the Divine Name Publishers are not endorsed by or supported by any religious organization and since it is not an enterprise in pursuit of any profit we are entirely dependent upon donations and our financial resources. We have exhausted our resources of time and money to produce the online version of the Divine Name King James Bible and for two Ereader formats, Epub and Kindle. We are receiving donations in very small amounts. We expect that as soon as the online version of the DNKJB has been perused and scrutinized by the public and we have made corrections to typos and possible mishaps in the text then we hope that by that time we have enough donations to produce a printed version."

Since WHEN does it cost $25,000 to copy/paste a document into Word format and use the "find and replace" function? This is not only a hoax; it is a fraud being perpetuated to trick people (overjoyed JW's) into parting with some of their hard-earned money by giving to the "cause."

On their home page, they declare:

"We are very appreciative of all your emails, but they are many and we are few.

We want to help everyone get their questions answered and the Divine Name declared.

Please avail yourself of the FAQ and Preface located above the New Testament sidebar on the left side of the page."

(Sort of a, "Don't call us; we'll call you" statement).

Just below this, they have a fill-in-the-blank donation box, automatically set to $5.00, but you can enter any amount and then checkout through Google, forwarding your donation to them.

    Google Checkout"

***EDIT: King James Version of 1611 translators (all 47 of them): http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/transtoc.htm

If you write to the following address and request a list of the translators of the American Standard Version with their credentials, such will be provided:

    Thomas Nelson

    P.O. Box 141000

    Nashville, TN 37214-1000

Maybe we should try leaving a comment on the DNKJB website requesting their names and credentials.

Maybe we should try writing a letter to Watchtower headquarters requesting the names and credentials of the translators of the NWT.

I think it is interesting that there are people out there that use the divine name who are not Jehovah's Witnesses and this seems to be on the increase. I see so many people on here that accuse the Watchtower society of editing the bible to put the divine name into it yet many translations available have the name either in the forward or several verses throughout the bible. This just shows that many scholars can see the need to return the divine name to it's rightful place. These scholars are learned people who have thoroughly trained in this field Strangely enough these ones who oppose using God's name usually state that the King James bible (either one or all of the many versions and editions available) are the only accurate translations. Bit of irony don't you think? I find it sad that people get angry at a bible society for putting out a translation for people to read just because they put God's name back in the place where the original tetragrammaton was or they quibble over the English and Hebrew language speaking Hebrew for some words and not for the rest. Thanks Jonny, I will pass this on

What strikes me as odd is the notion that they would even want another publication. Since the inception of the NWT, they use no other publication. Prior to that they used the same KJ version.like everyone else. Being one who study's the Bible I find it hard to believe that the Sacred Name was not used in first century (christian congregations) every day language. After all it was Jesus who stated in the model prayer, " Our Father in the heavens: May your holy name be honored... (Good News Bible) and other renditions (with the same meaning) such as ,"hallowed be thy name... The key being NAME not TITLE, which LORD and Lord represent. Jesus is referred to as Lord, but his name (with good reason) is not omitted. So it seems only logical that LORD be replaced with the sacred name. And what name should be inserted? Since in the original KJ version the name Jehovah was used multiple times, It only makes sense (logically) then to use the name from the original (English) KJ publication. Which clearly was not published by Jehovah's Witnesses. Keep in mind Jesus stated in John17:6 that he (manifested) made the Fathers name known. Not his position or title....his NAME. Just some food for thought.

I find it amazing how worked up the KJV only crowd get over the name "Jehovah" When the King James uses the name Jehovah, albeit in just a few places. If the King James is "the" Bible, how can you deny it ? If it was right in a few places, why not the thousands of others ?

I can just about assure you that there are some Jehovah's Witnesses behind this but I can't wait until that Lone Star Phd. doc Jason Bedunn makes some kind of comment on it and get some kind of publicity out of it. I don't think it going to last very long, Publishing rights and all. must be a certain amount of changes to be published from the other King James Versions and jsut changing the name is not going to do it. Beside the name Jehovah is not the correct name. Oh, well it will just be another false Bible much like the NWT.

Andrew, you do not have a corrected Bible you have a changed Bible and Bible that has been flawed to the max, it's one of the most reprehensible Bibles ever written. Wrtten to follow a false religous concept and completely bogus doctrine. You sir have been dupped and don't even know it, why because you want to be and don't want to have to find the truth on your own! So you settle for one as self described truth instead of Biblical Truth. Shame on you!

No. Jehovah's Witnesses did not produce this Bible.

I'd say it was a group of people, that simply have respect for the name of God.

    In particular John 1:1.

This one reads, "1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - See more at: http://www.dnkjb.net/1189chapters/NT43JHN01.htm#st...

    The NWT reads:

"In the beginning was the Word,+ and the Word was with God,+ and the Word was a god."

JWs are particular about that "a".

Quit with your babbling about JWs and other alleged conspiracies.

The person behind this Bible is a Jehovah's Witness, but it is claimed that the publishers are not associated with any religious organisation:

"The web site is a 4 year labor of one of the Brothers. We learned from this web site that there is new King James Bible for 2011 and it is called... The Divine Name King James Bible. The web site for this translation is at: dnkjb.net The web site is a 4 year labor of one of the Brothers. What a major change for this translation considering that for many years the Divine Name was only there in a couple of places, then I think that it was eventually removed, and the word LORD was placed instead of the name Jehovah! If you read the forward and other information from these publishers they express their reasoning on why the name Jehovah should be placed back in this Bible. I noticed that at the bottom of their page they quote Isaiah 42:8 where it says...I am Jehovah: that is my name. Hopefully soon we will learn more about this translation from our Brothers. Chances are that Professor Jason BeDuhn who wrote the book Truth In Translation will be writing about this new translation."

“The Divine Name Publishers is a private organization and is not affiliated with or sponsored by any religious organization. The Divine Name Publishers is funded purely by the charitable contributions of its patrons and from proceeds resulting from the distribution of the electronic and printed versions of the Divine Name King James Bible. The Divine Name King James Bible was not produced by the direction, assistance or approval of any religious organization or religious community.”

With regard to putting 'Jehovah' into the Greek Scriptures (New Testament) it is important to realise that the reason the name 'Jehovah' did not appear in the King James NT (or in any other reputable translation of the NT) is because the Divine Name (YHWH) does not appear in any Greek manuscripts.

I can only conclude that the people behind this Bible are individual Jehovah's Witnesses whose sole intention is to make people think the Divine Name (YHWH) should be 'Jehovah' and by trying to get it into the Greek Scriptures (NT) they wish to deny the divinity of Christ Jesus.

I am holding in my hand a copy of the American Standard Version Bible published in 1901 by Thomas Nelson and Sons of New York. The American Revision Company the produced this bible restored the divine Name "Jehovah" to its proper place displacing the KJV "LORD" or "GOD" some 6,792 times. These revisers did not identify themselves. Am I to throw a fit over this omission? Should I charge them with conspiracy? Should I hate them for not drawing attention to themselves by publishing their names in this Bible? Well, I am not! I have better things to do with my time. Like reading the Bible every day and benefiting from its message. I want to love my neighbor and look for the good in him. I find the DNKJV Bible interesting and their web site very useful. Can you name one of the translators of the original KJV of 1611?

To restore the suppose divine name to Jehovah is the work of ex-jjw possibly outside of the Jw org. Yes, the book should not be taken seriously.
