Twins, toddler beds and potty training?
My twins are 17 months old, I know its still a little early for potty training and im not pushing it but how do I get them to stay in their toddler beds. My oldest never gave me any issuses transitioning from crib to bed but my twins are night mares. Honestly its my daughter, she just wont stay in bed. My son will fuss a little then go to sleep. Any ideas on how to make this go smoothly or do I just have to suffer for a few days?

Why are they moving to beds already? It is early for that. It really would be safer to keep them in their cribs until at least age 2, 3 is even better. If they are very tall you may have to do it sooner, but it really is safer to wait. Also, they will understand it better.
For potty training get them a couple of potty's and praise them for sitting on them. That is where we are now. I am trying to teach them "tee-tee" and "poo-poo" and that they are things that should go in the potty when not wearing a diaper. Next month, 3 day naked potty training technique. My twin boys are 22 months old.

i would read my daughter to sleep and she would usually stay in her bed...i would go and check on her later and she would sometimes be sleeping on the floor. i wouldnt move her cuz all hell would break loose if i did. shes 29 months now and still sleeps on the floor on occasion. we put a safety gate on the door way, cuz i heard too many stories of kids walking around the house and getting into harmful situations or even unlocking the front door and walking out. now with potty training you really should save your self and your kids some stress and wait until the age my daughter is. i didnt listen to my gmas advise and started at 2 yrs and it was a disaster. s few months really makes a difference. now she doesnt have accidents only poo. she goes by herself. in the beginning i had to bribe her...like give her a cookie when she goes peepee in the potty, but hey it worked. now i just cheer for her. she decided when she was ready or a big girl potty.

If the twins can't get out of the crib--leave them in it. I think transition should come when they are in danger of climbing out and getting hurt. Before that why bother if you have a good thing going. A few days of suffering could last for years if you have a chronic night wanderer like my daughter.

Before bedtime, explain to both of them that is night time, night time is for sleeping and they need to sleep in their big boy and big girl beds.
If they get out of bed, calmly and quietly (meaning no talking at all), take them back to bed and cover them back up and leave. You may have to do it several times for a few days but eventually it will work.
