How much water does a normal cat drink every day?
I am giving mycat water in a syringe since he (due to dental problems) has stopped drinking and will only eat a little canned fancy feast. I don't want to over do it but before I go to bed I want to have him well-hydrated. He is using the litter box and walks around and gets excitedwhen he hears the food can pop open, so from the looks of his mouth, it is all a dental issue.
I'm going to try and get a dental antibiotic from 1-800-petmeds

Hi Magpie. Feel free to email me. Water is essential, and cats are not big drinkers. Wet food is vital in your cats diet. Dry food has no place in the diet of a cat. Hydration is your biggest concern. That is why the best dry food on the planet, is far worse than the average wet food. I'm leaving you the best website I've ever come across for a cat's nutrition.

Cats normally drink very little water if they eat a quality canned food like Fancy Feast (canned foods are mostly water). But if your cat doesn't eat much, you should give it extra water. Why doesn't your cat eat much? If it's because the texture is dense, maybe water it down with water before feeding.
