What's the difference between a Wedding Ring and an Anniversary Band?
I'm getting married and don't know anything!!!! If the ring is called an "Anniversary Band" can I still buy and wear it as my wedding ring?

The difference is the marketing approach and the name of the ring.
A wedding band is, traditionally, a plain gold band. An anniversary band is a multi-diamond band. Some are plain, some are more elaborate fashion pieces.
You can wear an 'anniversary' band as your wedding band, it's not against any rules.
Some women were married with a plain gold band because that was what they could afford at the time and the anniversary band allows them to wear diamonds later in their marriage. Some wear it in place of their wedding band, others wear it on the right hand in addition to their wedding band on the left.
Some anniversary rings can be a little more elaborate than the wedding bands and may need to be worn by themselves depending on the style.
My wedding band is technically an anniversary band.

As opposed to wearing a plain wedding band http://www.affordableweddingbands.com/images/tn_bi...
This anniversary band would have a hard time fitting with an engagement ring but could be worn on its own as a wedding band without an engagement ring or it could be worn on the right hand as a diamond fashion piece http://store.spectrumsjewelry.com/store/i/is.aspx?...
So, if you found a ring that you love then use it as your wedding band. It's the ring he gives you at your wedding - it could be out of a vending machine - and this makes it your wedding band.
A lot of medical professionals skip the engagement ring all together and go with a diamond anniversary band because it is low and won't catch on rubber gloves, patients, etc.

Yes you can wear a "anniversary band" as your wedding ring if you wish. Anniversary rings usually are bands that have diamonds all the way around or 3/4 way around. The stones are usually all the same size, without a center stone. Wedding rings vary, they can be anything from a plain band to a diamond, or multi gem. It's really your choice as to what you like and want, also what fits you life style. Many of my nurse friends do not like rings with raised stones because they would catch on the hospital beds, so many preferred just a simple band.

A wedding band is usually plain or complements the engagement ring. An anniversary band is a gold (white or yellow) band that has diamonds all around. It's called an anniversary band because it's designed and marketed as an anniversary gift from the husband to the wife.

Engagement is the one you ask to get married with. Wedding bands are the ones you give at the church and anniversary rings are the ones you give each other year after being married on your wedding day like 10 years later

I'm as clueless as you LoL
I always figured any kind of wedding ring has some sort of gem on it (traditionally a diamond or a bunch of them depending on the style of it) and a band was just a simple gold or silver ring with nothing on it. I could be wrong. I didn't even know there was such a thing as an anniversary band. I only know of engagement rings, wedding rings and wedding bands. Oh, and wedding ring sets (both an engagement ring and wedding band worn and kind of fused together) Good luck and congrats :)

The wedding ring is the ring you exchange when you exchange vows. It doesn't matter what the jewelry company called it.
