Yes it happens, mainly when you find something very funny and you keep thinking about it.

I have No Idea what sets this off! (so for once,, you've managed to ask something that even I don't know the answer to!! ... that must be worth a diary entry, surely? ) .......... As I said,, I have no idea what sets this off, (unless you have some mental problem?, but I don't think that's the case, is it?? ) ..... However,,, I Do know of a sure fire remedy to STOP the giggles, if you're interested. .... "Next time you get the giggles & can't stop,, just put your hand into an open car door, & slam the door shut as hard as you can!!" ... OK, you may break every bone in hour hand,& be in intense agony, but it will stop those 'giggles'. .... Of course,, If you are silly enough to really try this, & if even this doesn't stop those giggles,, then that means just one of three things. .... 1/ You really do have some mental problem. OR 2/ You didn't slam the car door hard enough, / or you pulled your hand out at the last second. OR 3/ You enjoy pain. .... Now, If it happens to be either of the first two things,, then seek professional help. But,, If it happens to be No. 3, then you might consider joining a B&D/S&M group. (Personally,, I wouldn't.)

The ventromedial prefrontal cortex produces endorphins after a rewarding activity. That is what causes laughter.
