Computer monitor says "No input signal"?
Can someone please help me? The connection to the power, so I thought it must have been the D-sub cable, I went out and bought a brand new one, put it in and it's still not working. So I'm assuming there is a problem within my computer, can anyone tell me what to do?

Hi
if you have fitted a new video cable it must be the video output from the graphics card that has died.
so if your computers video port has failed you will need to purchase a video card and install it.
likewise if the graphics card has failed you will need a new grahics card.
sometimes disconnecting the cable from the computer before switching off the monitor will blow the graphics card. they just fail.
had many fail before i discovered why.

Some monitors have multiple inputs (e.g. DVI, VGA, S-Video, composite video.) Check that your monitor is using the correct input (it may not automatically switch).
If you have a laptop, make sure that the laptop is set to output video to the monitor, by holding down the Fn key and pressing the appropriate screen output button several times. It may be marked with a pictogram of a monitor, a TV or the words LCD, CRT, TV or some combination of these. It will usually have three modes; 1. laptop screen only, 2. external sceen(s) only, 3. both laptop and external screens. Pressing the button will step through these modes one at a time.

Ok well if you check all the connections make sure your monitor does not have multiple inputs and is on the wrong channel. Next if that does not work I would check that your video card is secure to the motherboard. If you do not feel comfortable opening your computer you may have to take it in to a repair shop... Id just hate to see someone spend money on a simple solution! Another Idea might be to check your monitor and cable to another computer and see if it works! Or try your computer with another monitor.

You can download ccleaner for free here: http://bit.ly/1Bk5V5C
First open CCleaner
Go to the Cleaner tab and you will be confronted by a very confusing lineup of checkboxes.
To make this brief, below is my recommended setup:
Under internet explorer check temporary internet files, cookies, and last download location. Most users don't really need this stuff. keep history and bookmarks unchecked, history is a maybe, but you don't want to lose bookmarked sites. You can normally leave Windows Explorer, System, and Advanced alone.
Run CCleaner and it will start deleting files.
afterward it will present you with a list of the files deleted, you really don't need to go through it as it will be several pages long.
The registry cleaner is recommended for slightly more advanced users. Use it after uninstalling programs as they will often leave behind incorrect registry entries.
If you decide to run Registry cleaner then review the items detected and always back up the registry (I keep a folder aside for this)
The Tools tab lets you uninstall programs and set startup programs. Why do you need this if Windows has all of these features? Especially with Vista Home Ed. The windows defender software explorer( startup programs) doesn't pick up some entries (however software explorer is easier to use).
Using CCleaner to uninstall programs and then check for leftover registry entries takes less time.
Under Options you can determine how CCleaner cleans your files. I leave this alone.

Has one of your 'F' keys got a pic of a laptop and a TV screen? Try that. You may have accidentally sent the picture to an alternative screen than the monitor - i.e. the TV screen.

sounds like your graphics card is kaput mate if you have tried a new cable. very easy to replace but not easy to explain.
best thing if you don't know what you are doing is to get someone to replace it for you that's qualified.
