How can I avoid being tempted by refined sugar garbage when at the supermarket?
Junk food on the sides of aisles or even in the wrong aisle or maybe something on special in the bakery section. You get the idea. I don't want to die another diabetic victim from the greedy processed food industry.
I came home from work, steamed some broccoli, potatoes and baked some crumbed packet fish. Nothing bad about that. Then I went shopping at the supermarket and all hell broke loose. I bought a 6 pack of donuts on special for $1, two 4 packs of blueberry muffins and 2 Cadbury chocolate bars.
I went home with my groceries, ate all the donuts and a chocolate bar. The muffins were intended for work over the next 3 days, but sugar addiction can cause me to eat more than intended at once. I've ruined dinner and am now trying to flush some of the refined sugar out of my system with a cup of tea with no sugar.
So what are your tips?

Make a shopping list and stick to it. Don't deviate left or right. If they don't have it, it didn't happen.
Don't go shopping on an empty stomach - you'll be more tempted (although you went shopping AFTER dinner and it still happened).
Potatoes and crumbed fish are relatively high GI carbs - it's the crumbs on the fish, and new potatoes are lower GI than a jacket potato (for example). Eat lower-GI foods and you won't get the sugar cravings.
It helps if you know how much stuff costs because then you can take exactly the amount of cash you need. Seriously, it helps. If you don't have the money to buy it - you can't.
Hope that helps :D

I know what you mean.. you just have to force yourself to avoid those isles..don't look at the stuff! Make sure you are completely full, not hungry when you go to the supermarket and make a list to bring with you of the stuff you need and focus and concentrate on getting whats on your list, like ur on a mission to distract u from the junk food.
