Those of you that are over 30..Would you rather go back to those days?
when the weather man/woman didn't have all this technology and basically had to guesstimate (my new weather word) what the weather would be tomorrow...forget the long-term forecast, which didn't exist then.
Combined with this....does anyone think that looking back before computer, cell phones, I-pads etc....was a better way of conversing..either by phone or by mail...Or...heaven forbid...visiting your neighbor!!!

Oh Pleeeze, put me in the TARDIS, & send me back in time! .... I'm in my mid 50's & the world has changed drastically, from what I knew it to be. ... I recall when not even Calculators existed & the first one's were about the size of half a brick! Telephones may have been around for a lot longer, but not everyone had one. When I was young, only about 2,maybe 3 houses in our street had a phone! (less in neighbouring streets.) .. In those days,, you could go away & leave the house open & unlocked, & be sure that noone would take advantage of your absence. Today,, homes need locks, security camera's,bars on windows,(some people even have guns),& this is while you're at home! Medical science was not what it is now,but at least if a person went to see a doctor, there was no waiting for several hours. Doctors all dressed in a suit & tie then, not like bums like today! Milk.,,, There was only ONE type of Milk back then, & it was delivered by a man with a horse & cart. It came in real bottles, with a silver or gold foil cap, & there was always a fight to see who would get to have the few inches of cream on the top! (but usually,a bird would beat everyone.) ... Today,, There's about 30 varieties of Milk. They Add water, chemicals, cream, everything,so it's Not really 'Milk' anymore. ......& In the "Good Old Days",, Everyone grew their own veggies & fruit & chooks for eggs,, & it was very common to swap things that one needed & didn't have. (try doing that Today with your neighbour, without getting abused or beaten to a pulp! ) .... Yes, "Give me the Old Days,, Any Day!" .... Oh, & in my opinion,, the only people to speak harshly Against those Good Old Days, are the people who were not there! .... (so if you haven't Experienced what they were like,, Keep your dumb trap shut.) ... "In my opinion".

Yes, it seems it was better back then. But it may just be because I was younger then. (Everything's better when you're younger.) I kind of miss the face-to-face communication, but then I don't miss the times that my car broke down and I had no change and so no way to call my dad. So, I have mixed feelings about modern technology.
I'm 47, by the way.

I don't use technology for the weather. My husband is a pilot. He reads the sky very well.

"All this technology" was around twenty years ago. I don't understand why you think it was just invented. Yes, long term forecasts were around then.

No I wouldn't go back. I'm grateful to have improved communication. And I didn't find out until I was 57yo that I have Asperger's. So no, I really, really, really don't want to go back.
