I'm am traveling in Washing DC/Alexandria, VA next month. What are some interesting things to do with toddler?

My kids are 2 and 3 years old. What are some interesting things we can do there that their age would enjoy? What are some good "kid friendly" resturants? Also, where are some unique places to shop?

We already have the National Aquarium planned.

My two year old loves the Building Zone at the National Building Museum. There are also a few Playseums (one in the Eastern Market neighborhood of DC and one in Bethesda MD) that are a lot of fun.

Check the Smithsonian website calendar for kid's events. They regularly have storytelling, crafts, and music at the various museums.

For shopping I'd recommend Old Town Alexandria (Why Not? is a really cute kids store), Logan Circle, Georgetown, or Friendship Heights in D.C. Most of the shopping in D.C. isn't great if you're towing a few toddlers along though.
