My relationship with God - I need HELP!?

I pray I read the word of God in fact I even attend Bible college. However I still most days have this overwhelming feeling that God is not happy with me.It makes me so depressed and makes me feel as though I want to pull away from God.I try to stay near I give Him the praise but I consistently feel as though I cannot make Him happy and that others around me and in my life are more favourable to God than me...It hurts so bad,I even feel as though God is more pleased with my husband than me..it may sound silly but I battle with this on most days..

In fact many days I dream of experiencing that overflow of joy and acceptance which can only come from God I have it only now and again then I go back to feeling as though God is angry with me...

I really want to move past this are there any special prayers I could say,or anything I could do I just want to KNOW in my Spirit that He is pleased with me and not angry or disgusted by me and that I am not His second choice

Any Christian help would be great

Update:

I am walking upright I do not live a life of lies, sex and drugs and secret sins,I am trying to be a better person each day?

You did not explain just why you feel God is angry with you. But you need only look to Scripture for the answer to your question. John 3:16 makes it clear God loves everyone so much that He gave the life of His only begotten Son that you may live.

If you've admitted in your heart that you're a sinner, believe in your heart that Jesus is God in the flesh who gave His life for yours and you've accepted the pardon for your sins Jesus purchased with His shed blood then you are saved. You were sealed with the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of your salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22), Jesus promises not to lose you (John 6:38-40), no one can snatch you out of His hand (John 10:27-30) and in fact nothing in all creation can cause the loss of your salvation (Romans 8:38-39), not even anything you do.

After all that how can you even think that God is angry with you. If it's because you continue to sin know that not one of us can stop sinning. Read about Paul's struggle with sin in Romans 7:14-20. And when you sin just confess according to 1 John 1:9. The Lord will immediately forgive you and forget you ever sinned.

Then it just becomes a matter of living a life pleasing to God. This 5-part series will help you understand: http://gracethrufaith.com/selah/from-this-day-on-i...

Actually the entire site will be a blessing to you.

    Love.

It seems we have hit and impasse.. a paradox.. there is that which is empirical and that which contradicts it all.. life and death.. reality and illusion.. oneness and compartmentalized separation.. Its like that horizontal line when you look out at where the ocean meets the sky.. The eternal dance of the feminine and the masculine.. Both are vital but not one more than the other.. Doors open and then close as candles are lit only to eventually be burnt out.. but why? Why do we experience anything at all? I cant tell you that.. Thats something you must find out for yourself should you care enough to slow the quickness of your eyes.. I can tell you to go and stare at a snowflake but in reality that will get you nowhere.. but the truth is God exists and doesn't exist.. So your right in your assessment.. but what is it you do? The other (the opposition) is just YOU at a different point of conscious observation based in the illusion of separated experiences.. We dont need to demean or run people down because of what they believe.. for you would believe the same should you have had the same experiences.. Its what we do that defines our character and it is unto that that we should be judged.. We all know walking up to randoms and slitting their throat is evil and wrong.. its a value complex that is simple and one that the vast majority of us share.. but beyond horrendous acts as such why aren't we allowing our fellow men and women to be free? Why aren't we openly and enthusiastically sharing our differences? There is nothing inhuman or wasteful about wanting and yearning to understand and communicate with the alternate experience.. Exchanging information.. its one of the things humanity is expectationally good at.. but perhaps we take it for granted as fear, social conditioning and pride sometimes get the best of us..

The sheep that are dumb enough to waltz into the rushing river deserve not the life vessel.. for they do not value it.. but while their attention is willingly hijacked with trivial distractions the land is giving way.. they witness it daily.. but true knowledge is gained through pure experience.. we are bombarded with information all the time which is like a steam of falling water.. our mind acts like a series of strainers as so much of the information is filtered out.. you become consciously aware of a very small percentage of your own experiences.. you dont even know what you did today.. nevermind trying to tell people how to live.. stick with the obvious.. no hurting or infringing on the inalienable human rights of others.. and the main ideas is to simply do unto others as you would have them do unto you.. most of us picked up a lot of this playing in the sand box in kindergarten.. why does adolescence have to forsake these simple but profound values? Quit acting like a bunch of retards. You are not retarded.. nor are you machines.. as much as they would like to turn you from flesh and blood to steel.. you are the men and woman of a beautiful (still green) planet.. dont just throw that away.. dont just leave that love behind because someone told you something else was more important.

What exactly is making you feel this way? What if God is actually pleased with you, but you just aren't accepting his love into your heart?

Is it because you feel guilty for things you've done or thought about? Well to be honest, none of us can be perfectly sinless all the time, or at any time! He knows this about us, because he created us, and he understands.

You could say he is like the perfect parent. He understands that his children aren't perfect, but is happy just to see them do their best, and he loves them all equally, although sometimes in different ways.

Stay true to yourself, and I think you will be fine.

I'll pray for you as long as you keep praying for yourself, deal? <3

You'll feel much better about yourself if you stop trying to believe in God. That overflow of joy and acceptance is coming from within you and doesn't need to be attributed to something like God.

God is one with you, and is never separate from you. It is the lie of organised christian religion that heaps fear and guilt on people to think God is angry with them. My advice is to rethink what you have been taught in the christian circles - much of the christian teachings have trapped people rather than set them free from condemnation. Try listening to Carlton Pearson's sermons for a change - he has evolved in his understanding of Christ. Once you know Christ and you are one (as He is, so are we in this world), you will be perfected in love, and perfect love casts out fear.

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"He has not dealt with us according to our sins, not rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just a a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame, He is mindful that we are but dust." Psalm 103:10-14

God does not accept you based upon your performance. He accepts you solely because of what Christ has done on your behalf, and He loves you now because you are His child. If you fail from time to time, He knows that is part of being human. He does not love you any less than He loves Billy Graham.

So . . . .you need to not just hear this, but also believe it. When you reject this truth in your heart, you need to confess to God that you are not believing what He has said about you and that you need Him to change your heart from one of unbelief in this matter to belief. You are totally incapable of changing your own heart by your own strength. Only God, by His Spirit, can change your heart. So confess to Him your times of struggling to believe the truth of God's unconditional love and acceptance of you, and ask Him to change your heart. Do this each time you struggle with these thoughts and feelings. Your unbelief in any form is a sin, and 1 John 1:9 tells us that as we confess our sins that God will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Your heart needs a good bath in God's grace. Allow Him to cleanse your heart by letting Him know where the dirt is, and giving Him permission to clean it up.

  • There is no evidence whatsoever of this God fellow. Now stop worrying and start to enjoy your life.
