he was one of the best , Pete Schmeichel but imo he played in an era where there were keepers as good at him at more successful clubs.
Gianluca Pagiluca, Walter Zenga. Claudio Taffarel, Angelo Peruzzi, Oliver Kahn were all world class - people forget Edwin Van Der Sar was also a world class keeper before he arrived in the Prem and before United snapped him up from Fulham so he was also a highly sought after keeper in them days.
im looking at the 90s mainly.
for me - Oliver Kahn and Gianluca Pagiluca were better than Peter Schmeichel.

completely agree!!!!!! Valdez doesn't receive extra objectives because he has a large protection. you're precise too concerning the blunders. each from time to time he receives objectives that enable's the feeling that he might want to do some thing extra. With a unique goalkeeper, as an get mutually Buffon or Van der Sar, Barcelona can an almost invincible team. Regards

Lev Yashin (USSR)
Nicknamed the "Black Spider" because it seemed like he had eight arms to save everything, Lev Yashin was a fiercely passionate goalkeeper with amazing reflexes and jaw-dropping athleticism.
He was a one club man, playing only for Dynamo Moscow. During his career, which also included 74 caps for USSR, Yashin saved over 150 penalties and kept almost 500 clean sheets, a remarkable record for someone who played 812 career games.
He was part of the European Championships winning team of 1960, four years after helping USSR to Olympic gold. Yashin, a three time winner of USSR's Best Goalkeeper award, remains the only goalkeeper to have been named the European Footballer of the Year, an award he picked up in 1963.
In 2000, he was named as the greatest goalkeeper of the 20th century in a poll conducted by IFFHS. I'm going one better, and naming him the greatest goalkeeper of all time.
