Ham Radio is not dead. There are over 2,000,000 people licensed worldwide.

The 2 meter band tops out at 148 mhz for most of the world. Thus those are not Ham frequencies.

Why not get a Ham License? I know of children who have passed the exams out here in California.

Find a club near you and get the ball rolling.

    Look at the link...

Ham radio is not dead but it has been on life support for about 20 years.

Those are the MURS frequencies. AFAIK, that service is only license free in the USA, and likely even there altogether.
