You are in Luck, Cause right now I am trying the Stronglift 5x5. And i must admit I have never been in better shape in my entire life. It words like a charm. If you want to tone your body then the Stronglift 5x5 program is perfect. I however wouldn't recommend doing the HIIT Cardio, simply because strength training will tire your body out and you will not allow enough time for your muscle to recover.
You will simply drop dead by the fast week. The stronglift program aims to give you strength and like Medhi said, Strength gains is directly related to muscle size. You want to tone your body right? If so, not to worry the stronglift program will not bulk you up, just as long as you don't like like a mega horse. Just eat like a horse and you'll be fine. This is the type of program which you will be skeptical, but it only last for 12 weeks. But for the majority of people they will start seeing results within 4 weeks of starting the program. Remeber to start with an empty barbell. DO NOT make the mistake of starting with weights, add 5 pounds on each workout and you'll will gain alot of strength.
Squats, deadlift, overhead press, bench press and barbell rows are the fundamental excercise of the stronglift program. Follow the routine through and though and you will become stronger.

I have learned and have been doing some strong lift 5x5 since last year. It is a good way to gain pure strenth. Infact at times I do 3X5, that is a good way to gain power. However strong lift 5x5 is not for fat loss, or even muscle size/mass. To gain muscle size/mass you genneraly need to lift a lighter weight for higher reps to increase hypertrophy. Lifting a heavy weight for less reps will make you stronger, but it will not always increase muscle mass. The effective way to loose body fat is by doing high intensity cardio AKA Stair Running, Hill Sprints Parachute Running,, Peddaling on the stationary bike at the highest resistance. If you want defined abs you have to do more cardio, and burn more calories than you use each day. If you want biger muscles you need to eat a lot of calories esspecialy protein and complex carbs, and lift weights for a lot of reps. Mainly the calories you eat, and the amount of cardio you do will give you the toned stomach.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

I did the 5x5 written by Mehdi while training for a power lifting meet.
I believe the workout is geared more towards gaining strength, and didn't mention any cardio.
It isn't the easiest program.
Maybe you could change up your workout from the 5x5 to more of a 3x10, to get better
results. I know we all want results yesterday, but it may take a little while to notice changes to
your physique.
Keep lifting, and good luck.

Yes! It's a great program, but I know it by the name of madcows. anyway... really good program, it builds strength quite quickly. Stick with it for a while and you'll definitely see increases in strength.

If you're talking about having extra skin, exercising won't help that as far as I know, but time will. Your skin will naturally tighten back up over time.
