How long do i have to let acrylic enamel dry before masking it off.?

It depend on the temper in which you are working in and if you are using heat lamps in the boot to speed uo the drying time. What is the drying time on the paint can? How much drying did all to the paint to speed it. Paint never fully dry's. Without drier added, it will take a day or two where the painter tape will not hurt it or put it off. Since don't know the brand of paint you used. Usually the basic paint job is done before the strip is paint. With the strip area taped over. Then the clear coat is done to seal it all together. The paint is baked on to cut the drying time for each step. With out the baking done, it could take days. That depend on how thick the paint was put on.
