The military is the one of the only constitutional roles of the federal government.

Military spending is 20% of the budget.

    Entitlements are 60%.

We need to make some cuts because the war in Iraq is over.

But the military is not the driver of the deficit.

Easy, the Democrats have never liked the military. They fail to see that no matter what Britain and France tried to do with Hitler, Hitler always wanted more. That is the biggest reason that Hitler was able to take over France so quickly, they didn't expect him to attack.

Also, by keeping bureaucrats around he can pay them higher salaries then what the military make.

I don't care which side of the argument you are on, don't use the military to make political points. It is despicable.

Of course we need to reduce our government, but if he doesn't reduce the bureaucrats does it make it OK to not get rid of excess service members? Your argument works in 3d grade but not in politics. Or maybe it does work in politics and that is part of our problem.

President Obama did not come up with the reduction plan and 67K isn't even the right number. But when we do reduce and it has already started, the Active Duty Army will still be larger and more effective than it was in 2001.

Don't worry his budget won't pass.

His last one was defeated in the Senate 97 - 0

Not even a single Democrat voted for it

Amen. Troops are far more important than some self serving politician sitting on his or her fat a** thinking of ways to screw over the country.

Your article doesn't say no bureaucrat jobs have been cut. That's your lie alone.

In fact the federal workforce has grown smaller and pay has been frozen.

    67 - 48 = 19.

    ~25,000 x 67,000 = 1.675 Billion dollars per year...

    1.675 / 15,000 = 0.000111666...666....

    2012 - 1967 = 45...

    64 = 32 x 2
