How can I keep my dog busy?

My six month old labrador pup is alone during the day while I work from 7 to 4. I am looking for safe ways to keep himself busy. I can't get another dog. He has a splashpool. Anything else I can leave for him?

You could amuse him by leaving toys around your home and kinda try and hide them you could also try and hide some treats but a lil bit easier glad i cud help

He needs things that make him think and give him mental exercise. Labs are very smart dogs and need mental exercise as much as physical exercise. Go to the pet store and get him a Kong. It is made of semi-hard rubber and takes abuse very well. It is hollow, so you can fill it with peanut butter, kibble and other yummy stuff. It works best if you freeze it before giving it to him. He will play with it and try to get the goodies out literally for hours.

Look at rope toys as well, as tugging and pulling is great exercise for growing puppies.
