Any pregnant ladies check their own cervix and is it safe?
I just came across a website that explains how to check your cervix at home for dilation.
I was just wondering if anyone has done this and is it as easy as the website makes it out to be?
Also is it safe to do at home on your own?
I am 36 weeks pregnant and really curious to see if i am dilating, the doctors at my hospital do not check for this they only check to see if the head is engaged.

Personally i would be too scared to check my own cervix. It is perfectly safe to check your own cervix so long as you have washed your hands and have well manicured nails and go slow and be gentle.

I would say not a good idea, because you don't know exactly what to check for and the doctors won't be checking dilation until you are 37 weeks and up.
Head engaged is all in the same as dilation so just go by what your doctors are doing.
