If ignorance is bliss, what is intelligence?

Ignorance is not Bliss...

Intelligence is not the antithesis to ignorance. Intelligence is a description of someone's cognitive ability, knowledge is the true opposite of ignorance. So to answer the question, knowledge is complicated. Knowledge is understanding what ought to be happening and realizing that it is not what is actually happening. Where ignorance sees that sex is fun, knowledge reveals the risks involved. Where ignorance sees that the food tastes good, knowledge reveals that its destroying your body. Where ignorance sees that your fighting for freedom, knowledge reveals that freedom was never an option.

DJ pretty much said most of it, but i will add that with knowledge and ignorance comes Wisdom, which is the power to know what one does with both. one can except the truths of knowledge and the bliss of ignorance and work their lives around it (eat only healthy food, take precautions during sex, etc) or we can wallow in self pity at knowing the truth about the world or lack of. wisdom brings relief to knowledge.

It is a burden.
