Alcohol consumption and headaches?

I have done a little research and am only able to find that alcohol helps headaches, but for me it is the only thing that helps. I have not been able to get them diagnosed, is there a type of headache that is helped with alcohol and not helped with painkillers? (vicodin doesn't even help them). And why does alcohol help when it is suppose to hinder?

Alcohol is a drug so it could work, (dilates blood vessels), but talk to your Doctor about a drug called Imitrex. Same sort of effect, as it sounds like a migraine headache.

Imitrex is NOT a painkiller. If it is migraine, painkillers don't always work, whereas Imitrex is specifically for migraine headache treatment.

    Take care, good luck!
