Iodine staining of onion cells?
Recently when staining an onion cell with iodine, it didn't seem to react with any starch which i thought was odd (school lab wet mount). So basically what happened was it remained a brownish yellow color, with no noticeable effects. Was the iodine meant to turn blue reacting with starch, or make the cell more visible?
