  • Koomba Park Wildlife?

    I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the flora and fauna which live in Koomba Park (Australia).

    Any help even if it's just one organism, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Iodine staining of onion cells?

    Recently when staining an onion cell with iodine, it didn't seem to react with any starch which i thought was odd (school lab wet mount). So basically what happened was it remained a brownish yellow color, with no noticeable effects. Was the iodine meant to turn blue reacting with starch, or make the cell more visible?

  • Visual Basic 2010 calculator help?

    I'm making a calculator from Visual Basic 2010 but i couldn't quite get things going as i hoped. I'm trying to get the backspace button working so that it deletes the last digit (ones column).

    I'm not sure why it isn't working but here's my code:

    Dim str As String

    str = lblDisplay.Text.Chars(lblDisplay.Text.Length - 1)

    lblDisplay.Text = str

    It gets rid off all the digits besides the last one (ones column) and this is really starting to fustrate me.

    Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Poll: Which do you like better?

    Ok which do you like better, the 7 wonders of the ancient world or the 7 wonders of the modern world?

    Also do you think the Angkor Wat or Great wall of China deserves the 'wonder' status?

  • Potassium manganate disproportionate potassium permanganate?

    When potassium manganate disproportionates in a low ph it produces potassium permanganate and manganese dioxide. But would the produces separate to form a layer or something and if so is there a simple way to separate them? And how much of each produce would you obtain if say we had 50g of the manganate.

    My guess is that the maganese dioxide would be floating on top of the potassium permanganate. Would this be right?

  • Hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid question...?

    To make hydrochloric acid you need sulfuric acid and salt (sodium chloride), they made this back in the time of renaissance but i have no clue how they did it. Could anyone please explain?

    Or if you have another way just post it (without the use of electrolysis please).

  • How did they build? First good answer instant 10 points.?

    In the medieval times, how did they build the cannon 'Pot De Fer'?

    An image can be found here, this is an experimental one built a few years ago, i was just wondering how they managed to get the shape in the medieval times.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vase_cannonfortn...

    Did they use a mold for it or did they somehow bend a piece of metal into the shape?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Picture of a galaxy twice on the same picture?

    I remember hearing about it on TV a few months ago and I'm trying to find the name of the picture. It shows an image of space but with two galaxies (or is it stars?) nearby each other but actually they are both images of the same star or galaxy. It was explained by the curvature of space-time i won't go into detail. Does anyone know the name of the galaxy/star or the picture?
