Is it a coincidence that the "birth control debate" came up in the election year?

...or that the issue is completely confused by the left?

Update:

I'm a conservative woman. I use natural birth control methods for a number of reasons.

A) They work.

B) Birth control pills carry a myriad of side effects that range from unwanted to deadly. Note the number of birth control products that have been recalled in recent years.

C) They have an undesirable effect on the environment, and long-term studies on the effects of these hormones on the ecosystem (as well as the men exposed to these hormones in drinking water) have yet to be done.

But all of that is irrelevant. Whether another woman uses birth control is none of my business. I do find it objectionable, however, when the government tries to dictate what coverage an employer provides. Benefits are a privilege, not a right.

it's all bull sheit. like fancy-nancy said, "we'll have to pass the bill to know what's in it." don't worry, it will only get worse. hopefully, the supreme court will toss the whole boon-doggle out based on the commerce clause of the constitution.

It is definitely "opportunistic politics." NH republican representatives were complaining about it, but they all voted for it state-wide in 1999 and are just now trying to repeal te law. Also, Romneycare in MA provides contraceptives without any religious exemption.

I don't think the left is even the slightest bit confused. What I think is funny is the ability of conservative women to use contraception, yet see no problem with restricting it's use. Falls into the usual conservative "I got mine so screw you" paradigm. It's a strange form of cognitive dissonance. The right is eating itself.

No, not at all. Liberals want to make it sound like if its not provided for free that their rights are being violated.

I have the right to own a gun, why hasn't the government provided me with one yet?
