Are my ant traps working?
I got pavement ants and I put out ant traps a week and a half ago. When I first put them out I saw two sizes of the same ant. one ant was normal ant size and the other ones where half the size they look like baby ants. The traps have been out for a week and three days. I noticed like 3-4 days ago the bigger ants disappeared and I only see the baby ones. I see only 5 ants feeding on the trap at a time when their use to be like 8-10. Are my traps doing their job effectively enough or should I switch to the liquid Terro bait?

Terro bait is for ants that like sugar. Pavement ants like the Terro.
If you can find the nest outside, some bait will be good there. Their nest can be under the house, under the edge of some cement or sidewalk.
If the ants are feeding on the bait and they are carrying it to their nest, it should work. There might be a few thousand in the nest or there might be more than one nest.
Or both baits will be good to use.

I'm thinking you are using the type of ant trap that allows ants to carry the stuff back to the nest to kill ALL the ants in the nest. These types take a while to work, but seem to be best. Mine take a month sometimes, then another nest finds it's way into my house. Eventually, I found the place where they are coming in at the foundation of the house and blocked it with some caulking.
