What do you think of the name Minnie?

Opinions? What names would you shorten to make it Minnie? (e.g. Minerva) thanks!

It sounds kind of classic, like an old fashioned movie star, and reminds me of Minnie the mouse at the same time, so I'm really on the fence about this! I'm just not sure...

Also, you can nickname your daughter "Minnie" no matter what name she has, in my opinion. Just tell people you adopted that nickname because she's so "mini"!

I don't think it's right to ask opinions on names on yahoo. Mainly because a name (for a child/pet etc) is a personal choice.

Personally I do not like Minnie, it will always be compared to minnie mouse, and would sound silly on an adult.

As in Minnie Mouse? Because that's what children at school will call her.

Give your child a nice "normal" name, and use something like Minnie, as a pet name at home.

I don't think Minnie is strong enough as a first name...maybe for the middle name

I love the name Minnie, I would not make it short for anything because it is stunning on its own.

It's okay as a nickname, but not as a given name.

It's not a name I'd use because I don't think it ages well.
