I think UCLA has a Music History major for a Bachelor's, but I am not sure what the differences would be between a degree in Music and Music History

Transfer students are given first priority when it comes to admissions. Campuses like Davis/Berkeley/ and UCLA are slightly more selective, but I have known people to get in to the major of thier choice with GPA's as low as 2.5's. If you have a 3.0 and have completed all of your lower division transfer prep for your major, then you can have the option to sign up for the TAG, (Transfer Admission Guarantee) and get right into the college of your choice without going through all the stress of normal application process. I just applied to UC Merced And UC santa Cruz, but I had a REALLLLLY bad semester, and my GPA is at the bare minimum required to get into a UC, and I am confident I will get accepted in, just not to the major of my choice. Good luck.

Officially you can transfer, but a lot of the UCs aren't taking transfer students any more because of over crowding and the large number of people trying to save money by doing two years at a CC. THey don't say that on their site and they do give highest priority to CC transfer students.
Below is the link from UCLA for transfer students. Most CCs also have a special counselor to advise you about transferring.
You don't have to have the AA degree, but you have to have enough credits to be a junior. You need a 3.2 average.
They do have a TAG program.

UCLA does not care about an associates degree, but requires extremely high grades for a transfer student. They do not participate in the TAG program. Be sure and take your general education requirements and not just music.
