    You mean the tax increase...

The obama plan makes for a nice soundbite but really RAISES taxes on companies

Strangely enough, the NY Times, which many believe to be liberally biased, neglected to mention that these reforms will result in a $250 Billion Tax Hike on Corporations.

    Why is that?

    Per the Los Angeles Times:

"President Obama wants to significantly lower the top corporate income tax rate to 28% as part of a broad overhaul that would raise an additional $250 billion from businesses over the next decade by eliminating many loopholes and other breaks, according to a senior administration official."

If Obama had chosen to do corporate tax reform that was revenue neutral, or resulted in less taxes on corporations, it would have gotten widespread GOP approval.

But this is just yet another shot in Obama's Class War to raise taxes on corporations.

I support the effort to cut the business taxes to 25% and this proposal needs a little more study. The USA has the highest business tax rate in the world and I am sure this would be supported by both parties if it makes sense.

The problem today is that that democrat controlled senate is the party of "no" right now. Harry Reid has blocked the movement of any bills and pigeon holes any legislation passed by the house. Obama has the veto pen, so if he doesn't like it he can veto it. But Harry Reid is trying to protect Obama from having to veto anything.

The bill lowers rates by closing loopholes and reducing deductions. That is what President Reagan did with the 1986 tax reform law. Removing the deductions and loopholes makes the tax code simpler and the benefits of a few are shared by all companies when the rates are lowered.

Strange, President Obama proposed something that President Reagan would vote for but Republicans cry foul. Conservatives in the past bragged about increased tax receipts is proof that tax cuts work. Now, President Obama proposes a lower tax rate and Conservatives now say the projected increase in tax receipts is a bad thing.

Here's a metaphor for you: A guy makes $1000 dollars and pays $10 in taxes and then takes another $10 for his dependent child. Using the same guy, here's the Obama Plan as applied to him: He only taxes you $5 but takes away your "loophole" by charging you $20 for that! No metaphor but he also wants to tax companies doing business overseas (punishing more like it) thereby double-dipping taxes on their products, thereby raising the overall price of the product which will be passed to the again taxed consumer! WHAT A GREAT PLAN (I sneer sarcastically)! What you call NO is merely COMMON SENSE! And it gives Your Poobah what he wants in an election year since he never wanted it to pass anyways! If you people are this dumb on economics, YOU DESERVE OBAMA... too bad WE DON'T!

Any tax cuts are gimmicks by either party. When anyone believes either parties tax reform is real reform they should not even vote as they are uninformed. Our government at the Federal, State, and local levels are bleeding us dry and the voters keep blaming the other party. We need real and complete tax reform. We need the Fair Tax. This will put an end to this corrupt System of taxing the powerless and giving it to special interests,

  • It's not a cut. It's a tax increase since deductions will be eliminated. When the Republicans proposed a similar bill, the Liberals on Yahoo kept repeating how Republicans want more tax cuts for the rich. Is that what Obama wants? Why the sudden support? Because your guy proposed it?

Yes there is talk of a corp. tax cut, but in typical Obama Fashion there are things hidden in the same idea is taxing all their assets around the world (Global Tax) Never happened before in history.. If you want to see these U.S.corporations change which country they headquarter themselves in just let this one go thru. You talk about destroying the U.S.A. This one just might do it.
