WHY are you Christians Atheists?

Question

Just about everyone is an atheist when it comes to other gods — the gods that other people believe in or that nobody believes in anymore.  I’m an atheist about all gods because there's no reliable evidence for any god, or even for Jesus.  There is also extensive evidence that Jesus and all gods are fictional characters — myths created mainly by primitive people who had little understanding of how our universe operates.  We all like myths and other stories, but we don't have to believe them.

You are right in definition if you lived over 300 years ago, atheism meant without X's God. Now it just means Without God.


That's why it plsses me of when some Jews that identify as atheists do so because "they reject a personal god" which hey, describres Judaism, just as bad as Christians who say they aren't part of a religion.

I'm a theist that practices atheism from time to time. I'm kinda confused by this question. I invented my own God based on any religious texts I could find that coincide with another and that don't impose an action on someone by threat of pain or anguish. And then to practice Atheism I simply put the God aside and imagine a void. So where is the problem?

An atheist is the belief in no god so a christian may not believe in other gods but there own, so they still believe in one god, so they can't be atheists.

Either you believe in something or you don't. Whether that be the monotheistic god of abrahamic religions or any other pagan deities, that's irrelevant.
Theist means you believe in something, atheist means you don't. A priemise like "I'm atheist to all other gods except the one god of abraham" is pretty dumb. That means you're not atheist at all.

Actually Jesus Christ has been proven to have actually have existed. This has been known for quite awhile now. 
I've said this before and I'll say it again, evidence is not needed for faith.

Are you essentially claiming that monotheists don't exist?

"Atheism" is not a relative term.  If you don't believe in the existence of any deities, you are atheist.  If you believe at least one, you are a theist.
