I've been accused of writing "pseudo-intellectual" questions. Can a question really be pseudo-intellectual?
If so, state your case.

Only the intention can determine whether or not a question is pseudo-intellectual.

I think the accusers recognize that the question required some thought and was the product of an intelligent person, but they're not sure how to respond, especially if they disagree with the premise of the question. They dismiss the question as pseudo-intellectual rather than put forth the effort to compose a thoughtful, intelligent response.

But of course!
For example: when a person writes "Philosophy:" before their question, which happens to be in the philosophy section, they are hopelessly trying to elicit a philosophical answer. If a truly philosophical question were posted in a philosophy forum, the person answering would know to answer the question philosophically and would not need to be told that the question was philosophical.
A question is pseudo-intellectual if it is asked by a pseudo-intellectual or related to pseudo-intellectualism. When you dishonestly try to make references to concepts or words you don't understand... you're a pseudo-intellectual.

Oh Yes, they can. Some people try to impress with big words based on little known topics. I don't know what the point would be....but they do it just the same. Like my dad always said, "if you can't impress them with your intellect, dazzle them with bull $hit. There is a lot of bull $hit here in YA.
