Ben
I'm 23. I didn't realize how nerdy looking I was until I made my avatar. You live and learn, I guess. I'm from United States, the state of Michigan. I'm in graduate school right now and use this site when i should be studying. I ask more questions than I answer, so I will be a Level 2 forever. If you want to know more, email me.
I've been accused of writing "pseudo-intellectual" questions. Can a question really be pseudo-intellectual?
If so, state your case.
6 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoThe last four questions I submitted on Yahoo Answers haven't been posted, what's going on?
I've even tried rewording the question. Am I banned or something?
2 AnswersYahoo Answers9 years agoPresuming God is of our and the universe's creator, why must we be thankful for his doing so?
If it turned out that we are living in a computer simulation made by "posthumans," must we be thankful that they (our creators) programmed our existence the way they did?

11 AnswersPolls & Surveys9 years agoWhy is it wrong to challenge God?
Often when I ask questions critical of God I get insulted and called an atheist. Isn't God tough enough for questioning?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy does God punish us for not Being "Good" like him?
I hear that
A: God is good and always good. Everything about God is good. God=Goodness. Goodness comes from God. If God wouldn't do an action, the action must be bad
B: God made humans in his image but it gave us the choice to be good or bad (Godlike or evil)
C: If humans are not good they are punished and suffer for not acting like God
So 1) Why didn't God just make another God (a being that always acts like he does) if that what he wants? Why make something that has the potential to do bad?
2) Why does God want everyone to be like him in the first place?
If your answer is that he wanted us to have freewill, explain why he doesn't give freewill to himself? Is freewill some sort of defect? If he has freewill like we do and is always good despite it, what's his secret, what then keeps him from sinning? What's he got what we don't have? And why does it save it all for himself?
Sometimes it feels like he put us in a room with the stove on and told us not to touch it because it was "hot." But having no idea what "hot" is or means, we touch it anyway and get burned. He knows the concept of "hot" the entire time and doesn't touch the stove. Then he criticizes us for not listening to him.

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy was Jesus' sacrifice so big?
--The entire time upon the cross he knew that when he died he was going to resume his role as God in heaven. Being God, there was really no doubt of this or even a need for faith.
--Yes his death was painful. But I'm sure thousands, if not millions of people have died more painful/humiliating deaths that he did.
--I suppose one of the harder things would be knowing you had the ability to "escape" the entire time being God. But in some ways that would make it easier (giving purpose and erasing doubts)
--I know he died sinless, but multitudes of humans die sinless as sick infants in pediatric care units every day.
So what makes Jesus' sacrifice the biggest sacrifice of all time?

--I mean, if the Romans decided to crucify the 12 apostles up there with him, wouldn't we all be in hell?
--Why should non-Christians go to hell because Christians can't argue their case well enough to convert the nonbelievers? Really, it seems like it is more the Christians fault than anyone else's...
