Satguru - what it means is - A spiritual teacher, an honest guide in life. He who is enlightened and only guides you towards your better path. He who doesn't have an ego. - Best thing to check is- he would not take money for his deeds :D Unless he takes a small fees from all (if doing it professionally)

2nd option is - intelligent grown ups. - Because they have intelligent for quite a while and can thus give good views about many stuff. Also, they are well disciplined in this world and society :D

If you go to intelligent people of your own age - you don't really get a very New perspective - Since they are facing same social problems as you are.

When we face uncertainty our understanding of justice in the world is challenged.  We experience doubt, fear.  We lose faith.

We long for calm seas and bright skies.  Uncertainty is much like a storm in our personal world.  The struggle like the rain is necessary for growth, but does it need to stir us and shake us so violently?

And so, you ask, from whom should we seek shelter from the storms, if not God?  I think it depends on who you feel will give you grace.  Who is going to care enough to listen at the right times, speak at the right times, laugh at the right moments, cry with you, and give you that gentle touch that allows you to feel understood and possibly even empowered?  At times we seek this from parents, friends, significant others, counselors, mentors, others who have been through it, even the little old lady who feeds the bird from the park bench.  We thirst for what they might give us, which is comfort, connection, wisdom, enlightenment. We hope they show the grace they'd want were the tables turned, loving their neighbor as themselves.

Source(s): Reality is that there are leaps of faith when we turn to anyone, and there are people who don't rise to the occasion. These can make storms increase in intensity--still, some do.  Some make a difference.
