Change videocard resolution before BIOS?

I bought a new fancy video card which has VGA (RBG adapter) and HDMI outputs but what I did not know is at that the video card's default output is 4096x2160 and my TVs max input is 1920 by 1080. With that kind of output/input I cannot even see my BIOS screen to adjust it so my screen is viable. Is there any way to make me be able to use this card? (FYI my card is compatible with my motherboard/PSU)

Update:

my newly built pc wont show any video even in the bios and the hdd is one from old pc that has windows 7 and the drivers on it. I also put in my old working video card into the pc ontop on the nee one. neither display video.

I'm still a little confused. What is the make and model of the graphics card?

If I understand you correctly in that you have also tried an older graphics card, and that doesn't work either [but you said it was a working card} that you installed over the top of the new one...Do you mean you have two PCIex x16 slots and are are trying to run the new and older card together in SLI or Crossfire or what?

You need to give details on the new cards make and model and exactly what you are trying to do for focused help

Your question is a little confusing. You are outputting to a TV but have a normal PC monitor too I assume.

You don't set up the resolution from the BIOS but from the graphics cards driver utility once you have got into windows.

If an AMD card then open AMD Vision Control Centre [used to be Catalyst Control Centre] and look in the displays section where the TV [connected by HDMI] and PC's own monitor are listed. Then adjust the resolution to want you want for your TV output.

If an Nvidia card then look for the equivalent settings in their utility
