No---Today's Republicans are exactly what he warned us about.

Here is a sobering quote by Abe Lincoln:

"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."

    -- U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864

@Pappa Xmas the only thing false here is your rating, the quote is a matter of public record, taken directly from a letter Lincoln sent to one of his colonels.

The passage appears in a letter from Lincoln to (Col.) William F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864.

For a reliable pedigree, cite p. 40 of The Lincoln Encyclopedia, by Archer H. Shaw (Macmillan, 1950, NY). That traces the quote's lineage to p. 954 of Abraham Lincoln: A New Portrait, (Vol. 2) by Emanuel Hertz (Horace Liveright Inc, 1931, NY).

Yes, he would be proud. Whatever the Republicans are up to the constitution will be better served than the path the President is guiding us in.

The quote from Lincoln about corporations is a complete falsehood, look it up. He never said it.

He would not be proud. He would endorse Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is a true candidate. When he debates, he does not speak of the Republican Party's bullshit. He focuses on the issues and finds ways to address them.

If you see any Repulican debate this year, Mr.Paul has constantly addressed what he was asked and didn't just say "God Bless America" like that's going to solve the ******* problem.

The Republican party has start unnecessary wars and increased the size of the federal government, with the backing of big bankers and businessmen.

Clearly, they've stuck true to Lincoln's legacy.

Abe Lincoln would be endorsing Senator Santorum.

Probably not, but he would surely be appalled at what democrats have become.
