Why is it that these Republican voters dont put Ron Paul in by a landslide?

It seems obvious to me that he is the only one not bought off by the corporations that are ruining our sovereignty. That and his inclination to protect our homes at home and not abroad for contract profits are by themselves good enough to win over intelligent people. What is it going to take for people to see they are killing America with their plain and simply short sighted votes.

Many Republicans won't vote for Paul because, while his domestic policies are widely supported by conservatives, his foreign policies are not.

Whether it is right thinking or not...they want a candidate who has a chance of winning an election against Obama. Unfortunately, Paul is an easy target for the left wing media who will make the election seem like a grudge match between a cookie making elf and MR. Universe. Can you guess which one is the cookie making elf? If you guessed Ron Paul you go to the head of the class, and if it was that obvious to you, you know it will be obvious to most Republican voters as well.

Paul is a libertarian. While he is a fiscal conservative, he doesn't care what people do in their bedroom. That's an anathema to much of the base.

These days, Republicans are GGG. Gays, Guns and God. Paul is great on guns, but not so good on God and Gays. He doesn't care whether people go to church. He doesn't care about who has sex with who. That makes him unpopular with the part of the Republican party that believes it can play Gods judgment role here on earth.

Then, Paul wants to keep the U.S. out of war. Republicans like wars because Republicans own the companies that make missiles, and bombs and guns and helmets, etc. Wars make Republicans money, so they like them. Their kids go to college, they don't get shot up in Afghanistan or Iraq. The whole Dick Cheney "kill kill kill" part of the base won't support Paul because he doesn't want to play the bully.

That's why Paul is so weak; he would actually make a better Democrat than Republican. He's definitely more Democratic on social issues and probably closer to them on fiscal issues than you would think. But, Dems love war, too, so that's not good for Paul.

They are. Sadly its not the votes that count, but WHO counts the votes.

@Lowly. Check the polls. A numberof them, including the most recent, show Ron Paul doing better against Obama than the other three. Look beyond what you hear from the corporat media pundits and censored news.

Honey, you answered your own question----he's won't be bought off by Corporate America.

Additionally, he doesn't represented the right-wing circus that the GOP has become in the following respects: (a) He's anti-war (and rallying the troops for war seems to have become a Republican staple), and (b) he refuses to kowtow to Israel, unlike the GOP religious wingnuts who somehow feel that Israel figures in their "salvation".
