What colour should I paint my room?
I'm moving in 3 weeks and I have no idea what colour to paint my room. My mom will be buying all the colours for the house soon so I need to confirm the colour I want but I have absolutely no idea. My bedroom right now is black, white and red with some blueish grey and the walls are beige. I don't want the walls to be a boring colour. Also, my house is located pretty much in the country and it has a very old fashion style (Built in 1928). the walls in my room aren't perpendicular, they go straight 90º angle and then change so it looks kinda like a roof. but it curves more than goes straight to a new angle. (Sorry for badly explaining). Anyways, my favourite colours are black, white, red and blue. But I don't want my walls to be the same colour as my bed spread and pillows because if I want to change in a year or two, I want the walls to work with a new style.
I'm 15, almost 16. And my parents might be willing to buy some sort of wallpaper.
I was thinking grey, but now I don't want that at all.
Also, I have light coloured wood floors.
Thanks :)
My dad is the one redoing the entire house, so he'll be alright with wallpaper and everything, and I'll also be helping him.
So I understand pastels, but could anyone suggest colours because I am really honestly clueless as to what colour I'd like

Everything SHOULD be painted in a light, neutral colour such as an off-white or beige. Then you add color with wall items such as framed pictures. This is an interior decorating rule! However, if you want to live in a "circus room", go wild with a rainbow of wacky colours. Wallpaper is best to put over rough plaster finished walls to hide the poor craftsmanship. Getting someone to apply it well is sometimes costly.

(My h button dont work proppa lol so aplogise for the lack of H :P)
Okaii, ur moving, keep the walls a basic colour, the buyers wont want a blue red or black room. keep it to baige or taupe. u can have a blue bedding with red n white pillows and black furniture and dress te room with white candes. or pebbles.
Also depending on the size of the room, dark or patternd wallpapers mite make the room feel smaller and cramped. if u see a wallpaper u like. go for some but u can cut them n put it in frames. u get ur pattern and u can brigten the wall without making it too cramped.
*** choosing colers*****
Have you tought of
Cream walls ten having a feature wall with maybe a greeny silver wallpaper on te wall ur bed is on? it will suit ur country teme, also will go with ur wood flooring, i find that it works with red and black quite well. im not sure with blue but just experiment.
Pick up coler cards at B&Q ten choose some. i think that 4 coulers sud b enough for a room, all similer of course. a bedroom shud b relaxing, if u ave loads of different colers ur gonna be looking everywhere lol.
Goodluck, ask if u need anything, ope i helped. i tryed to explain my best. :) charley xxx

Hi PancakeDucks,
Light Blue
I would choose a light blue for the all walls in your room. You could also choose to paint one wall where you place your bed in a different color ( maybe red ) to add some drama. Or even wall paper that one accent wall. Again, I suggest light blue such as a washed out light denim blue because this is an easy color to transition to with new bedding in the future. Happy Decorating and Congrats on your new home :o)

I've been in my new house for 3 years now and have changed my mindfrom colour to colour. It went from green, plum, teal, coral, beige and now i'm going for light yellow! Personally light yellow is my favourite colour. What i'm thinking of doing is painting my room a lightyellow then adding funky cartoon stickers to make it more interesting.

i think you should have a feature wall behind your bed if possible and pick a colour to match up all your soft furnishings.
white ceilings
light coloured floor is good
splash of silver
nice chandelier
Parisian look is nice for a modern look for a teenager
just done my daughters room B&W with a black day bed

you have a coombed ceiling, i would try to keep your colours light as coombed cailings can cause the room to look quite dark without the right lighting, i would suggest chooosing your gable end (wall at the end of the house) for a feature wall and make it a different colour from the other walls and keep the rest light. pastel shades.

if you want a simple good looking room paint the trim straight white oil based, any color goes good on white... if you have light colored floors you can use any paint you like but it has to be light, every color has a light color go to sherwin williams ,HD and lowes suck I seen how they add a bunch of water to their paint.. use acrilyc latex paint..
but if you want yout room to look super profesional super unique and super nice then you have to paint your trim with a light color expect white, but you will have to think your wall color very carefully, prime the trim (oil based), sand it, caulk it cover any wholes with white putty, and apply the oil paint. caulking requieres a little practice,, caulking is in a tube, cut the tip at a 45 degree angle not very wide or it will get messy, apply it to the cracks and wipe it off with your finger and clean your finger with a wet cloth and repeat, to cover holes apply putty and then sand it... everything need to be perfect before applying the enamel,,, to make straight edges around trim for the paint,, paint a freestyle line with the brush, then grab a putty knife and make the edge with the tip. cover your putty knife with a wet cloth and repeat process
