I've been told I have too many red blood cells?

Question

So I had recent bloodwork and was told I have too many red blood cells,normal range 47,he said mine was 49 and the doctor wanted more blood work done to see what's going on.He wanted to test for Lukemia which really alarms me and I really don't understand why he would do that? What's your opinion of having a slightly higher red blood cell count.I was suppose to take a daily asprin but haven't been taking care of myself in reguards to taking asprin,eating correctly and avoiding alcohol,whould any of these contribute to my higher red blood cell count?

I can only guess that the aspirin is meant to thin your blood - they are sometimes given to people with high blood pressure to alleviate symptoms quickly.
The doctor can have a false reading so don't panic but  follow the diet advice and cut out alcohol until your next test.
There are a number of reasons for a high red blood cell count and only a few of them are really scary - don't panic and do start looking after yourself, this is serious stuff and you need to treat it accordingly.

I am not sure enough to say but there are a lot of things that can cause that and the sad thing about medical test is the wait time because you tend to worry your self in to a mess trust your doc get more tests and then see what they say you can alway get a second opinion good luck

Trust in God,Doctors basically go by what they have learned..If you put your faith in them first you will be in their hands the rest of your life.Your heart is already giving you your answers.read your own words,"I was supposed to take aspirin but I haven't I do not eat right.I do not avoid alcohol..William your heart is telling you your answers My heart tells me to lose weight but My body screams for more.Your body if allowed to rule will lead you to the grave.The body is a greedy little child.
