Seniors, do you ever use the expression "A tie is like..."?

A tie is like kissing your sister? I used it tonight in a game chat room and nobody knew what I meant.

BQ: Who said "ruh roh" first, Scooby Doo or Astro?

Update:

I'm kind of surprised. I suppose it's a term mostly used in sports, meaning a tie game is nice, but not especially exciting. I've heard it used all my life.

Oh yes, I've heard it...many times. Having an ex-husband and a son who are consummate jocks, the saying was thrown around all the time, which is odd because my ex came from a family of all boys...so I don't know where he gots his info from...lol.

BQ: Why, Astro of course. The Jetsons came out in 1962...Scooby didn't show up until 1969

I guess that one never got here...sorry.Until you mentioned it had to do with sports,I thought it was like a tie men wear.

BA;Don Messick was the voice of both characters and The characteristic voices of Scooby and Astro are so similar that Astro's signature phrase, "Ruh-roh!" ("Uh-oh!") is popularly and improperly attributed to Scooby (as in "Ruh-roh, Raggy!").

Sorry, never heard of the tie thing either, but I believe Scooby Doo said it first.

Yes, that's an expression I've used a few times in my life .

I do have to say, however, that a person with an incestuous nature may not agree with the saying, though .

I never heard that expression before.

Just for the sake of argument, I will say ScoobyDoo.

The first time I heard it was from a football coach. It has become so cliche that they stopped using it.
