95 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 motor swap?

i have a 95 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 with 4.0 the motor is kinda tired and its making noise so i was looking into getting it replaced and tracked a good 4.0 engine with 115k but it was out of a 99 cherokee sport my question is would there be any differences with mine? would it still work in my jeep?

The blocks are the same, the cylinder head on the Cherokee is of an improved design. As long as you reuse all of your Grand Cherokee's components on the newer block you should be good to go.

Source(s): Recently performed a motor conversion on my 1988 Wrangler YJ and found a lot of information regarding the 4.0L engines.

With the perfect quantity of money sure!, in case you think of that's as elementary as a million) do away with 5.2 engine, 2) deploy 5.2 engine, no it wont, it won't even start up up mutually with your cutting-edge digital administration. you need to use a vehicle overall performance simulator[a million] to very just about change the 5.2 and notice how your Cherokee will carry out with that engine and are available to a decision if well worth or not
