Bangkok - visiting in April - travel advise needed?
I'm going to Bangkok in April. What do I need to know -- local knowledge that isn't found on the tourist website. Places that are worth seeing, and is the Chatuchak market only open during the weekend.
I'm not going to be there during the weekend, are their alternative shopping spots.

During my last trip to Bangkok:
There is now a night market in Silom/Sathorn area near the Saladaeng station of the Skytrain or Silom STation of the subway
Near the Huay Khwang Station of the Subway there is also a night market. This is mostly for locals and tourists.
You will find a "night markets" where vendors set up shop near major tourist areas. Khao san Road has a lot vendors out, Sukhumvit and Asok roads intersection. At the Thailand Cultural Center station of the subway, at the Robinsons mall there is a market that sets up.
Out side Central Lad prao there is an outside market.
Union Mall across from Central Lad Prao is a good place for teens
Some of the above you may find in www.bangkok.com
Most of what I wrote, I have seen while traveling around Bangkok. The above are for both tourist and local
Worth seeing? subjective as to worth seeing
I would say from what I have seen:
Grand Palace, emerald Buddha and other things in the palace.
The Chao Phraya river at night from the top of the State Building
Gold Dome Wat
Silom/Sathorn night market
Siam Square for shopping and food.
Royal Barge museum
I am a guy, I like to shop for bargains. So my view maybe a bit skewed. I like people watching
I would say to visit the malls, also, MBK Center and Siam Paragon and maybe Central World, 3 very different malls. I would also suggest Fortune Mall, and older one that is indicative of typical bangkok in the sense that there is an office building, mall and hotel attached and what is usually around a those types of businesses. It's more what the typical thai person will go to.

the climate would be very heat in April. in case you're in Thailand from the 13-seventeenth, I did desire to propose you would be in Thailand in the process Songkran (Thai New 3 hundred and sixty 5 days) & issues would be fairly loopy in the process the country. Nightlife in Bangkok: various strategies around Sukhumvit and Silom. Nightlife in Pattaya: a great deal is done around walking highway. Sightseeing in Bangkok: Grand Palace, Wat Po and Wat Arun are all great. forex substitute: should not be a project in any respect (do not substitute on the motels, in spite of the undeniable fact that, via fact their rates are stupid). The Thai Baht is beginning from 32-33 baht to a million USD suitable now (you will get somewhat extra advantageous substitute rates in case you deliver tourist's cheques). classes and sightseeing techniques for Bangkok and Pattaya additionally are coated in the hyperlinks below.
