What does the acronym EMO mean?

I've seen the acronym EMO around sometimes, and I can't figure out what it means. It's usually used in similar context as IMO (in my opinion) or IMHO (in my honest opinion), but I don't know what the "e" would stand for. Does anyone know? Please and thank you!

Update:

I know that usually "emo" stands for "emotional", but I'm looking for a different meaning.

Emo (said /?i?mo?/) is a kind of rock tune most commonly characterised by means of melodic musicianship and expressive, quite often confessional lyrics. It originated within the mid-Nineteen Eighties hardcore punk motion of Washington, D.C., wherein it was once referred to as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" and pioneered by means of bands comparable to Rites of Spring and Embrace. As the kind was once echoed by means of trendy American punk rock bands, its sound and which means shifted and modified, mixing with pop punk and indie rock and encapsulated within the early Nineties by means of companies comparable to Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the mid Nineties countless emo acts emerged from the Midwestern and Central United States, and a few impartial list labels started to specialize within the kind. Emo broke into mainstream tradition within the early 2000s with the platinum-promoting good fortune of Jimmy Eat World and Dashboard Confessional and the emergence of the subgenre "screamo". In up to date years the time period "emo" has been carried out by means of critics and newshounds to a form of artists, adding multiplatinum acts and companies with disparate patterns and sounds.
