We are starting a live chat support service for our web page. What is a good way to start and end the chat?

Most live chat window I see will use "Hello, what can I do for you?" and "I'm glad to help! Please contact XXXXXX if you need further help." this kind of thing.

They're definitely ok but in my opinion (also what I'm always trying to do) is to make the canned message, especially the opening more customized, i.e., using the visitor's last name, topics they may be interested in, etc.. Fortunately, live chat is a quite mature tech these days, and many live chat software do have the function of customization. I like a function called "intelligent auto invitation", it can really help to make a good beginning.

Start with Hi or Hello & Nice Meeting you & then Go Straight to the Point of what ever you require in Your Support Service. As for Ending you can Always Say It was a Pleasure Talking to you>>>>>

    Hi, and goodbye!

    seriously it works..

No, people normally begin it with,

Hey, what's you age, and state you live in, that's usually on Omegle though..

I'm not sure about other chat websites.
