  • 13/90 slang meaning?

I am seeing the term "13/90" frequently in various comments... usually news reports involving black shootings. It seems to be some kind of statistic... or possibly derogatory.

    Anyone know the 13/90 meaning?

  • I don't want a relationship with my parents... but should I let them see my kids?

I am a single, full-time father with 2 girls. My parents have always been difficult to deal with. My mom has said mean things to me and my kids (like they are fat).

I have distanced myself from my parents ever since, but my mom continues to try to call me, and my father emails me. I ignore these things.

However, my Mom has been texting me asking if she can see my kids. I don't want to deal with her but should I allow her to see her grand-kids?

  • Which are better seats to see a Broadway play?

My kids and I want to see Wicked and the seats are going fast. I can not afford the $219 seats in Orchestra. So I am left with 3 options:

    1. Front and very left (or right) "partial view" seats at $119 ea.

    2. Row 7... far right or left "partial view" for about $159.

    3. Rear Mazz (nose bleed and all the way in the back) for $99 each.

My main concern is the view for my 6 y/o.

  • Audio jacks on desktop not working?

I have a 3 y/o ASUS desktop. It has 3 Jacks for sound: "Front","Rear", and "Sub".

Over time, I thought my speakers were going out, but now the Front and Rear jacks don't work... only the Sub works.

I opened the computer expecting to find a sound card... but instead it seems the jacks are hardwired into the motherboard.

I already checked all Playback settings. Do I need to just buy a separate sound card.

  • If you had free plane tickets, where would you go with your family, if in my situation?

I am a single Dad and have an opportunity to take my girls (6 and 13) anywhere in the U.S. They have 2 tickets already paid for by their grandma and need to be used before May.

I just need to pay for my own ticket. Other than Orlando (which we visit too much already) what is a good city to go to, with my kids.

  • Nail avulsion - keep wet or dry?

I had my middle finger nail ripped clean off. The dr. said the nail would grow back.

In the meantime, I am confused by the care instructions. It says to "keep dry", and bandage with neosporin. Well when I dress with neosporin it stays wet and nasty looking (when bandage is removed). Seems like if I leave it open to air it would scab and dry up.

Anyone else with experience with this?

  • How to close my business?

I started a vending business that never got off the ground. Made no money. I have been licensed and I got an EIN number last month. It's a sole proprietorship.

Do I need to do anything to cancel my business (ie. contact the IRS, state, etc)? If I do nothing, will I be okay?

  • What does an Auditing Committee do for a non-profit?

I have been asked to volunteer and be on the Auditing Committee for a small, non-profit, organization. I have never been on an Auditing Committee, but I have taken a couple of accounting classes in college. However, these classes seemed to focus more on private and public companies.

What are my essential duties and what can be expected of me at our first meeting? What can I expect for a non-profit audit?

  • How is a Partner paid / taxed - real estate rentals?

My father owns several rental properties and eventually wants to add me as a partner. Currently he is not setup as anything special like an LLC, SCORP, etc. He simply pays personal taxes on his earnings each year.

What is the best way he can legally pay me on a percentage of earnings from the rentals? I would help invest my own money into repairs, further purchases, help with advertising, and maintaining full occupancy.

Do I go 1099, W2, or is there another option?

  • Does it make sense to invest in .0001 stock?

I have been watching a particular stock for some time. It has been having significant trading volume, but it closed at .0001 for the first time ever.

I have never bought a stock this low. The message boards show many that are unhappy that the stock has gone this low. The company is appears to still be very active.

Does it make sense to purchase this stock tonight with a limit of .0001, for the morning? I have a hard time believing it will just flat line all of a sudden. I was thinking of buying at .0001 and sell at a limit of .0002 or higher

What are the risks and benefits of this strategy?

  • Parking / camping options at Bristol?

Going to Bristol in August to watch the race with my wife. 2 years ago we went, parked for about $30 dollars. After the race it was a total nightmare. Took us 5 hours just to get to the highway.

We would like to avoid the nightmare traffic and stay in Bristol a while. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences?
