If trinitarians did not change God, Why do some refer to him as the Almighty Jehovah Jesus?

God's name is Jehovah. Jehovah refers to the Father ALONE it does not include the Son or holy spirit who are supposedly also God.

Update:

Have they invented a convenient name in their stubborn refusal to accept the FACT the Father ALONE is God, so they decide to give God a new name, the Almighty Jehovah Jesus

Update 2:

@ John - Jehovah is not God's last name it is God's PERSONAL name.

There is a great deal of Scriptural evidence that Jesus Christ is God. The evidence is comprised not only of specific statements, but also in prophecy fulfillment and his attributes. Let’s first look at some of explicit Scriptural evidence. In this section, we won’t limit ourselves to only giving the text of two verses.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.” – John 1:1

“Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’” – John 20:28

I want to pause just a moment to discuss the verses above. The Greek word for God is theos. In John 1:1, we read that the Word (Jesus) was with theos and was indeed theos. Jesus was (and is) God! This is a very powerful statement! The word theos is used not only in John 1:1, but also in verse 18 and in John 20:28. Theos is used in the New Testament in reference to Jehovah/Yahweh God. Theos is also used in reference to Jesus. We’re beginning to see the plurality found within the one God.

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." – Revelation 4:11 (the words of the 24 elders to Jesus).

“…Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” – Acts 20:28

Once again, in the verses above Jesus is referred to as theos. In Acts 20:28, we know that Jesus shed His blood for the church, and as one person of the triune God, this action is the action of God. Now let’s look at some common compound references to Jesus:

“…the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” – Titus 2:13

“…To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours” – 2 Peter 1:1

In the passages above, both “God” and “Savior” are used in reference to Jesus Christ. There is no division of the clause. Scholar Robert Reymond writes, “The two nouns [‘God’ and ‘Savior’] both stand under the regimen of the single definitive article preceding ‘God,’ indicating…that they are to be construed corporately, not separately, or that they have a single referent.”[5] In other words, attempts to divide this clause into a reference to God and a separate reference to Jesus as Savior flies against the Greek grammatical construct. These verses provide additional powerful and clear evidence that Jesus is Jehovah/Yahweh God. Let’s now turn our attention to more verses that reveal Jesus to be Jehovah/Yahweh.

“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…. for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” – Romans 10:9,13. Note: Paul reveals Jesus to be the same “Lord” referred to in Joel 2:32, which he quotes. In Joel 2:32, “LORD” is Jehovah/Yahweh.

“…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:10-11. Note: “Lord” = Jehovah/Yahweh.

“…now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” – 1 Peter 2:3. This verse is taken almost identically from Psalms 34:8, where “Lord” is Jehovah/Yahweh. From the verses that follow verse 3, it is clear this is a reference to Jesus.

Another way we know that Jesus is Jehovah/Yahweh comes from the fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy. Zechariah 12:10 says, “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” This verse is part of an oracle given by Jehovah/Yahweh. This passage starts off in verse 1, “This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares…” Jehovah/Yahweh prophesies that He will be pierced. It is widely accepted among scholarly circles that this was fulfilled in the crucifixion and spearing of Jesus Christ. This is confirmed in Revelation 1:7 wherein we read concerning Jesus, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen

The Bible / God's Word starts out in Genesis with 'let Us make man in Our image' -- There are Many names for God / showing the many aspects of His existence. There are many references to the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ (Incarnate) throughout Scripture. In the New Testament the disciples are told to reach out to the entire world and baptize believers in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and teaching them. Jesus Christ -- while on earth -- Was God in human form . After His bodily resurrection, He ascended back to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.

Matt 4:10 uses three different word/name/titles; Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous [Pronounce Greek root for G2424 Ἰησοῦς.]

the Lord; κύριος kyrios[Pronounce Greek root for G2962 κύριος.]and God, θεός theos

Under Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous it's meaning is "Jehovah is Salvation" and Jesus throughout his ministry always referred to his Father as being greater than he was and at Matt 6:9 we are told to sanctify(make holy) his Father's name.

Trinitarians have change the Trinity to fit their way of thinking as how the explain the Trinity today "is not" the Trinity doctrine of old. The reason for this it seems is because the Trinity doctrine in its pagan form would be a hard sell to any Christian so now we have a watered down version of the Trinity that still ends with God is a mystery as their last defense when the scriptures say that God is not an author of confusion.

2 Corinthians 4:4 says Satan blinds the minds of the unbelievers so when they are shown scriptural prof that Jesus is Jehovah's Son and is not nor has ever been called Jehovah their minds can't see it again as the scriptures say they have eyes but can not see, ears but can not hear.

They class Jesus as the creator when the scriptures say by means of, for and through Jesus all things have been created and by the time man was created there were millions if not billions of angels created so when Jehovah said let "us" create man in our image he was speaking to a large number of spiritual creatures and he was not talking to himself or 2/3rd of him self. If there were 3 that makes 1 he would of said I'm making man in my image, if 3 make 1 they don't communicate with words because being equal they would be of the same thought!

Those with the right heart condition are moved by truth, the goats those with stubborn hearts will stay with false teachings because as the scriptures say they want their ears tickled(2 Timothy 4:3, 4) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories.

False religion says they use their idols as a means to worship God but the idol itself is not sacred. I'm with a family that are witnesses and his mother just died who is Catholic, the family when dividing their mother's things refer to all her angel statues, crosses, saint statues and rosary beads as religious stuff, you get these religious things and we will send the rest to her siblings is what these Catholics and I'm told even the priest said all her religious belongings she wanted divided among her family when speaking of her being a religious woman.

The Bible God's word says false religion is the mother of harlots that commit adultery with the Kings of the world and promote false teachings and tradition of men just as 2 Tim 4:3-4 says. The Trinity is a pagan belief, anyone that access to a computer can research this, Christendom's clergy has allow many pagan beliefs into pure worship, Easter Queen of Heaven the goddess of fertility whose symbol is the rabbit, what does Jesus' ascension to heaven have to do with a rabbit and decorated eggs? Anyone with a brain can figure that out, but the festival for the pagan goddess of fertility has the rabbit and colored eggs in it!

The word Hallelujah is not a word if God's name is not Jehovah, Ephesians 4:5-6 says one faith, one Lord, one baptism and one true God, so there's only one true faith and we all must seek it and get out of false religion the Harlot Babylon the Great(John 17:3; Revelation 18:4)!

It doesn't matter what you call God the Father or His Son Jesus (who shares the authority of the God head with the Father). The first sentence in this answer doesn't negate the Holy Spirit as being a part of the God head either. As long as you call Him with reverence, respect, honor and glory... He loves you and hears you. Also keep in mind you can't change God. But... you can call Jesus God and He or the Father aren't going to question your limited way of seeing Him or Them.

In answer to your question: Jehovah Jesus refers to The Father and the Son together as one. They don't mind the name... They understand where that person is coming from in honor of them both. It sounds to me as though you're bothered by the name Jehovah Jesus. If you were the one who judges others, would you condemn those who call you by you and your dads name? Even if you knew your father loved them also? Kind of like.... Get the name right or your going to hell son! What's up with that kind of judgment???

    Actually Jesus is Jehovah.

Go to Rev 1:8-Who said I'm the first and the last? Jehovah did.

Now read Rev 22:12-16. In 16-I'm Jesus it states.

Here is something that may help you understand what the Bible teaches about the Trinity. The Trinity is one God manifested in three different forms, all existing simultaneously. Each is fully God, yet a separate distinct entity. While it is beyond our human ability to fully understand this, here is the closest example I have found: water, ice and steam. One substance (water) manifested in three different forms. Each is 100% water, yet a separate distinct entity.

Jesus has the unique distinction of not only being fully God, but fully man at the same time. He filled a human body like a hand fills a glove. He chose to not use His Godly attributes while here in physical form on earth, so He could live a fully human life and be a perfect, spotless sacrifice for our sins. At no point, however, did He cease to be God.

    -One God verses-

Isaiah 43:10, "You are My witnesses, declares the Lord, And My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me."

Isaiah 44:6, "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me."

Isaiah 44:8, "Do not tremble and do not be afraid; have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none."

Isaiah 45:5, "I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God."

See also Isaiah 45:14,18,21,22; 46:9; 47:8; John 17:3; 1 Corinthians 8:5-6; Galatians 4:8-9 for verses that teach monotheism.

    -Trinitarian Verses-

Matt. 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,"

1 Cor. 12:4-6, "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons."

2 Cor. 13:14, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all."

Jehovah is the name of God, therefore, it could be applied to the summation of Father, son, and spirit, or it could be applied independently to any of them.

Just like my last name can be applied to my family individually, so can God's name be applied to any within the trinity of deity. God, Jehovah, Yahweh, I AM are all names that are applied to the totality of God, meaning the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (ie, the Elohim).

By the way, if you are a Jehovah Witness, then you must certainly notice that you are in a cult, right? I don't mean that condescendingly, but seriously.

Whenever I look at a religion with odd beliefs, I find it helpful to trace the denomination back to the source. For example, Mormons have some really odd beliefs, and that can be traced back to one named Joseph Smith.

When you look at the life of him, you must surely think he was a religoius man, but was obviously corrupt, and made false teachings.

Likewise, when you trace the source back in the history of JWs, and you look at their false teachings, their false "end times predictions," and more, you must certainly realize that you aren't in the full truth of God.

    =======================

    EDIT:

This verse disproves your entire argument:

    Then Jehovah rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovah out of heaven;

    http://bible.cc/genesis/19-24.htm

This text is often quoted by bible scholars to show that there were in fact 2 entities being called Jehovah. It is often used as a proof text in the trinity as well.

Source(s): EDIT 2: I didn't say it was God's last name. I said just like my last name can be applied to people with my immediate nature (ie, my family of genetics), so too can those with divine nature (ie, God) be called a name of God. Jesus can be called God/Jehovah/I AM, the Father can, and also God's Spirit Can. Anyone in the Godhead (or the Godhead itself) can be called Jehovah.

Actually, the letter J did not exist until 500 hundred years ago. It is improper to change the pronunciation of a name especially a Sacred Name with meaning even when changing languages. In most any Encyclopedia, Jehovah is a misinterpretation of the name Yahweh. Studies advanced since then more correctly pronounce the name Yahuwah.

All praise be to Yahuwah in the name Yahushuwah!

Is Jehovah in the “Old Testament” Jesus Christ in the “New Testament”?

Matt. 4:10: “Jesus said to him: ‘Go away, Satan! For it is written, “It is Jehovah [“the Lord,” KJ and others] your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.”’” (Jesus was obviously not saying that he himself was to be worshiped.)

John 8:54: “Jesus answered [the Jews]: ‘If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifies me, he who you say is your God.’” (The Hebrew Scriptures clearly identify Jehovah as the God that the Jews professed to worship. Jesus said, not that he himself was Jehovah, but that Jehovah was his Father. Jesus here made it very clear that he and his Father were distinct individuals.)

Ps. 110:1: “The utterance of Jehovah to my [David’s] Lord is: ‘Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.’” (At Matthew 22:41-45, Jesus explained that he himself was David’s “Lord,” referred to in this psalm. So Jesus is not Jehovah but is the one to whom Jehovah’s words were here directed.)

Does Thomas’ exclamation at John 20:28 prove that Jesus is truly God?

John 20:28 (RS) reads: “Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’”

There is no objection to referring to Jesus as “God,” if this is what Thomas had in mind. Such would be in harmony with Jesus’ own quotation from the Psalms in which powerful men, judges, were addressed as “gods.” (John 10:34, 35, RS; Ps. 82:1-6) Of course, Christ occupies a position far higher than such men. Because of the uniqueness of his position in relation to Jehovah, at John 1:18 (NW) Jesus is referred to as “the only-begotten god.” (See also Ro, By.) Isaiah 9:6 (RS) also prophetically describes Jesus as “Mighty God,” but not as the Almighty God. All of this is in harmony with Jesus’ being described as “a god,” or “divine,” at John 1:1 (NW, AT).

The context helps us to draw the right conclusion from this. Shortly before Jesus’ death, Thomas had heard Jesus’ prayer in which he addressed his Father as “the only true God.” (John 17:3, RS) After Jesus’ resurrection Jesus had sent a message to his apostles, including Thomas, in which he had said: “I am ascending . . . to my God and your God.” (John 20:17, RS) After recording what Thomas said when he actually saw and touched the resurrected Christ, the apostle John stated: “These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31, RS) So, if anyone has concluded from Thomas’ exclamation that Jesus is himself “the only true God” or that Jesus is a Trinitarian “God the Son,” he needs to look again at what Jesus himself said (vs. 17) and at the conclusion that is clearly stated by the apostle John (vs. 31).

Jesus never claimed to be God. Everything he said about himself indicates that he did not consider himself equal to God in any way—not in power, not in knowledge, not in age.

In every period of his existence, whether in heaven or on earth, his speech and conduct reflect subordination to God. God is always the superior, Jesus the lesser one who was created by God.

ONLY Jehovah God is called "the Almighty", NEVER Jesus.

ONLY Jehovah God is called "the Most High", NEVER Jesus.

ONLY Jehovah God is called "the Hearer of Prayer", NEVER Jesus.

ONLY Jehovah God is called "Creator", NEVER Jesus.

ONLY Jehovah God is called "Sovereign Lord", NEVER Jesus.

Thus amply demonstrating that Jesus is separate, distinct and subordinate to "The Most High", "The Almighty", "The Sovereign Lord", his "Creator", Jehovah God - the God HE worships -

“In reply Jesus said to [Satan]: “It is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”” - Luke 4:8

“Jehovah your God you should fear, and him you should serve.” - Deuteronomy 6:13
