I've heard that St. Patrick drove the rats out of Ireland. I'm from the USA and?

have heard that from since I was a little kid. Is this true? It doesnt seem to me that there are NO rats anywhere. I thought rats were in all countries. Can you guys from Ireland let me know? Much appreciated

    No, he drove the snakes out of Ireland . Snakes is a euphemism for the druids since snakes aren't native to Ireland.
