We are judged by our deeds, good and bad. There is no free ride, except possibly for the truly innocent, since they are small children!

I think it is has more to do with living a good life than simply having faith.
The idea that a murderer who is "saved" can get into heaven, while a man like the Dalai Lama who lives an incredibly generous, kind, and thoughtful life but doesn't "find Jesus" is sent to hell... just crazy.
My faith isn't the only thing that will "save" me. I can't be an *** in this world and expect great things in the next.

nicely, My first concept is this... a million. He grow to be demise... there grow to be no time for works... 2. maximum folk trust that faith in Jesus on my own is a thanks to salvation. 3. maximum seem over the "faith with out works is lifeless" i imagine it really is both... faith on my own will evade...yet your works are part of your faith.. it really is like being a vegetarian and telling all and assorted thats the great life to stay... not truly convincing in the journey that your eating a hamburger at the same time as telling them!!

BOTH salvation and works. "eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory,honor,and immortality".- romans 2:7 AND "for the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God,but the doers of the law will be justified"-romans 2:13. Read whole chapter 6 of Romans of the holy bible to understand.

Not religious myself but I think works here in the world would be the best way to go.
You can have faith but do nothing to make the world a better place.
By their fruits ye shall know them.

Salvation is by faith in God alone. But salvation produces zealous good works in the faithful for God's glory. It is evidence to the world that we are saved.
Good works are the result of salvation - not the payment for it. if there is fire in the furnace then there will be heat in the house. No fire - no heat.
Tts 2:11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tts 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tts 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tts 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Tts 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

All paths lead to God. Some are shorter paths and some are longer. What you find an easier or harder path will have to to with your temperament. Devotion to God and surrender is one path, relentless self-enquiry is another, good works and selfless service is another path and purifying the mind and body is another.....
Christians believe they have the only way because it says in the Bible that there is no path except through Jesus so if you are asking from a Christian perspective then either you believe that Jesus died for all humans as atonement for our sins or you believe that you just have to be a Christian and then you will be saved. I personally feel that if Jesus existed and said that there was no path except through him, he may have meant that humans have to become like him in order to reach enlightenment.
I believe that devotion to Jesus and following his teachings is only one of many paths. God is inevitable, there is only God and all paths lead to Him because God is all there is.

One must have faith and trust in the Lord.
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and say You repent of all of your sins and that you believe that Jesus Christ came to earth to die on the cross so your sins would be forgiven.
When you accept your Lord and Savior as Jesus Christ you have been saved and by the gift of faith and the prophecy of Isaiah 52,53 found in the Old Testament that a Redeemer would come.

Jesus said faith (pisteuo), in many places! Jame said that it was works which made that faith real, Jesus didn't seem to concur!
John 3
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes (pisteuo) in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
18 Whoever believes (pisteuo) in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
John 6
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe (pisteuo) in the one he has sent.”
Why don't Christians who preach faith + works never seem to know that word, "pisteuo"?
I think people who preach faith + works are showing that they are not spiritually aligned enough to God to be saved. I have no idea whether James was saved or not.

Salvation is through faith alone, but it must be true faith. True faith results in works. If there are no works, the faith is not true, and it is dead.
