Just letting it all go and seeing what happens?

I have been involved in a very light and casual friendship with this girl. We met at community college and on occasion had dinner before class or a drink. She is still messed up about a break up from awhile ago. I decided to not put all my eggs in her basket but rather to see it as a friendship and just be nice and social. Does this make sense?

Yeah, although secretly wanting more from her while posing as her friend is dishonest. Most guys are tempted to do that at some point due to lack of confidence. Obviously they are more accepting of friends than lovers.

I personally have no respect for that action, but don't think I'm knocking you. I've done it myself. I didn't realize how unfair it was until I hurt a girl who valued me a lot as a friend, when I had secret desires. Once you make your move, you better hope she had secret desires too, or she will be hurt because she lost a friend.
